There are a lot of magnificent neutral monsters in splinterlands. Most of which have stats and abilities that can make any team formidable. Specifically, a lot of the neutral monsters with melee attack are superb. I will be presenting some of such monsters, and perhaps, you could try using them in battle if you haven't.
Coeurl Lurker
This is the perfect melee attack card for the first position in battle. It has all the stats that can cause mayhem for the opponent. For starters, it has an incredible attack power of 4. Imagine if this monsters targets an enemy unit that has a health of 4, which is common. That unit would be eliminated in just one attack.
This monster also has a massive health of 10. Of course, this means it will take a lot for enemy units to eliminate this monster in battle. It is also very fast as it has a speed of 4. This card costs 11 mana and it's not surprising.
Coeurl Lurker has the taunt ability at level 1, meaning all the enemy units tend to attack this unit. With this ability, it can serve as a distraction for the enemy units while the other friendly unit do their damage. It also has the dodge ability at this level, so there's a 25% chance that it will evade ranged and melee attacks.
At level 2, it adds the phase ability, giving it the capability to evade magic attacks. By level 4, it gets the thorns ability, so when it is hit with a melee attack, it does retaliates with 2 melee damage to the attacker.
Legionnaire Alvar
This neutral monster has a melee attack power of 2. What's more impressive is its armor and health stat. This monster has 8 armors, which is a lot. This is more than enough protection for its health which stands at 6. Furthermore, it has a moderate speed of 2. The mana cost for this card is 9 mana.
At level 1, Legionnaire Alvar has the void armor ability. This means that magic attacks would hit its armor before its health gets affected. So that confirms armor protection of its health against all forms of attack.
By level 2, it adds the giant killer ability, letting it do double damage to targets that cost 10 or more mana. At level 3, it gets the Demoralize ability which lets it's deplete the melee attack of all enemy monsters by 1. At level 4, it gets the deathblow ability, so when it is the last unit standing, it deals double damage during attack.
Pallus
This neutral monster has an impressive attack power of 3. It also has 1 armor and a health of 7. Furthermore, it has a good speed of 3. This monster can also hold its own as a tank with it's impressive stats.
One thing I love about Pallus is that at level 1, it has the reach ability. This gives it versatility as it is able to attack from the second position in battle. It also has the flying ability at this level which make it able to escape melee or ranged attacks from units that do not have the flying ability. By level 3, Pallus gets the lookout ability.
