‘A people that does not know its history is like a child that does not know its parents'.
Nicolae Iorga
Hello fellow travellers,
These days being quite cold here in western Romania, I remembered the warm summer time, and of course visiting an amazing place located in Tinutul Secuiesc(Szeklerland), more precisely in Szejke Baths near Odorheiul Secuiesc.
I love to travel in the summer season, when nature has come back to life and everything is very lively, summer has something that attracts you to different locations.
The destination is aimed at both young and old.
In Tinutul Secuiesc(Szeklerland) you can visit several locations that are famous tourist attractions such as Red Lake, Bicaz Gorge, Tusnad Baths, Sovata Spa Resort, Borsec mineral water springs, and many others.
Today we will stop at the Mini Transylvania theme park of miniature buildings, located more precisely at Szejke Baths, the park includes replicas of some of the most famous fortresses, castles and medieval towns in Transylvania.
A fairytale world, where in just one day you can admire over 80 historical places in Transylvania.
Until almost at the entrance to the park we had access by our personal car which we parked in the specially arranged place.
I can say that I was surprised by the accuracy with which the details are reproduced. We feel like giants looking down on these buildings from above.
The Mini Transylvania Park seems like something out of a fairy tale. Both children and adults are fascinated by what they see here. The park is one of Romania's newest tourist attractions.
After a bit of research I found out that the models are made of plastic, handcrafted, but the details are still using 3D printing technology.
The painting is also done by hand. Each model required dozens of hours of work and documentation. But it was worth the effort. The Mini Transylvania Park is unique in South East Europe.
And what could be better than walking in the open air and having a world of fairy tales, legends and stories open up before your eyes, as well as the historical reality of the times.
Because, here, you have the opportunity to see in one place hundreds of years of history, of Transylvanian spirit, to learn the history of the castle of the most brilliant king of medieval Hungary, Matthias Corvinus - Corvin Castle, then to enter one of the most imposing and well-fortified peasant fortresses in Transylvania- Fortified Church of Biertan, or imagine a day spent in the footsteps of Dracula at Bran Castle, being up at Deva Fortress or attending one of the dances organized by Mrs. Stanca at Făgăraș Fortress.
I was most fascinated by the existence inside the Mini Transylvania Park of a mini railway line, on which a miniature steam train was running, fantastic.
Programme and prices,
Mini Transilvania Park can be visited on weekends from 09:00 to 19:00 (the visiting schedule may change depending on the sanitary conditions in force).
The entrance fee for adults is 20ron/4euro per person.
Other attractions,
In addition to the open-air exhibition with more than 80 models of representative buildings from Transylvania, the park also offers, on an area of 800 square meters, other attractions and ways to relax and enjoy your time, such as:
• Ride in the park with a mini steam train, unique in the country,
