I recently bought some new tools for Inking and drawing, I wanted to show here few bits I started to do with them, nothing fancy, just some practise really!
I wanted to give a massive shout out to @yangyanje for having me introduced to Inktober and the beautiful art of Inking! I immediately went to spend some money on amazon to buy some cool tools to start practising!
I always loved drawing and art since young, I did some Graffiti for a period of my life and as you can probably see from my Graffiti Letter Contest I still have the passion and like to sketch every now and then! I actually started the Contest as a way to motivate myself (and others) to draw more and get back to the roots of who I really am! Society does a good job of pumping our egos and not letting our true self be! Creating art and drawing helps me to reconnect with who I am and who I wanted to be before Life fucked me up for good!
Tools that I bought:
40 Sheets (80 pages) White Cartridge Paper Sketchbook 150GSM
60 Sheets (120 pages) White Cartridge Paper Sketchbook 135GSM (x2)
I am going to buy very soon a Mechanical Pencil and a Guide on How to Draw Dragons and I will get busy drawing dragons, the same dragons that beat my ass on Elden Ring...I now killed a few but still got a lot left...The game is massive...
Have a look at this beautiful Pentel Pocket Brush Pen!
And here a quick look at the book I bough to get started with some basics:
What did I do with these magic tools?!?!
- First I received the Fineliner Pens and I got busy just trying the different sizes and getting comfortable using them, I always liked technical pens and gel pens since young so I did not have too much of an issue here, have a look at me just trying the sizes:
- The next day the wonderful Pentel Brush arrived and I took it with me to work to try it out in some chill moments!
It is a very difficult tool to use but it's beautiful, if you can master this tool you can have an all-in-one tool, you can do super thin lines with it as well as super thick lines, everything is in the practice, practice, practice, practice!
- Then my Acrylic Pens arrived and I got myself lost on personalising the new Card my partner received to make it look a big more colourful ehehe
- The following day I brought all the tools with me to work, I knew I was about to have a very dead day so I got creative and actually did my Graffiti for my Contest #16 with the word RESET, you can participate here, still time to Sunday night to get your participation in!
- The following day I was off and I spent some time of the day to finish my lettering, I wanted to give some effects and I had a creative moment and used a pencil to quickly draw the lines and then the same technical pen used for the 3d lines to make the effects, this was the result, I love it!
Then I finally proceeded to colour the Lettering, using some not too great colours that I have at home, I will have to buy some better coloured pens for this stuff!
And here a picture of the finished works with all the tools I used to make it possible:
- And to finish this quick sketchbook sessions in a nice way here is some extra stuff I did using the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen.
I always loved Skulls and I'd love to become good at drawing them!
YOU DIED inspired by Elden Ring, that's the thing I see the most on that game...LOL
Then I just tried to copy a drawing of a Behelit (Berserk)
- Then I got sick of pens and ink and I just went old school trying to draw a skull with a pencil on paper:
