Hi everyone! I'm not new to Hive but I am new to this community so I figured I'd say hello with a quick intro. I recently came across Alien Art Hive through @derangedvisions posts and liked what I saw! My name is Tristan and I'm traditionally a landscape photographer. However... I'm also a huge nerd and I find the potential of AI to be quite fascinating, even while simultaneously worrying about the potential downsides.
I have a lot of love for sci-fi and fantasy, which bleeds into my photography a little bit. With AI art I've found that I can really go crazy with those influences - the only limit is what I can think of. I've always been terrible at drawing and painting so it's incredible to be able to have tools like Midjourney to bring things from my imagination to life. I fully believe that image synthesis is doing for digital art what smartphones did for photography.
Will there be a cost for that? I believe so, but that's a rabbit hole and not the point of this post :)
Below are five images I've created using Midjourney, Photoshop and Topaz. My typical process is to create a prompt around an idea that I think might look cool and then come up with a story or 'world' for it. After that I use additional prompts to generate more images to blend into the base image, such as characters, backgrounds, lights and so on. I find I don't really get much out of choosing a prompt and calling it a day. The real fun for me is in the final part: blending everything together and applying my own edits like I would to my photographs.
The Seeker
The story: A John Wick type character living in a cyberpunk future, hunting down the people that have hurt her.
Android Dreams
The story: A lonely robot and his companion look out over a futuristic city from a rooftop.
The Frost Keep
The story: A group of wizards locks away a powerful demon in a timeless prison of ice.
Sandstorm
The story: A Mars-like planet with two suns. Strong winds constantly blow around the planet, kicking up sand and triggering static discharges.
Hubris
The story: Humanity became too greedy. The gods saw no choice but to step in.
I hope you enjoyed viewing these AI images. I'm not really sure what to do with them, but I really enjoy creating them whenever I get the itch. Let me know which one is your favorite!
