Back with some more silly trivia I encountered today. I know you love it, lol π
So, apparently there is this burgers house that is frying burgers with the same old greese for the last... 100 years. Lol.
Yes you read that right πππ
Dyer's Burgers is a Memphis icon since 1912 and it has been frying its burgers in the same grease for over a century.
Supposedly, this unique tradition started as an accident but became the secret to their flavor that is often touted as "legendary".
According to the owners, the grease is carefully strained, seasoned, and preserved, ensuring its quality remains intact. Yeah... Dunno how I feel about this.
In case you wonder, the greese is continuously regenerated by the cooking process which naturally produces additional grease. And they even have some in buckets for back up.
Theoretically, there might still be some greese molecules from back the 1910s π·
Or it's all marketing bollocks.
All I know is that out of curiosity I might would actually try some lol. After all, this greese reportedly survived the great depression, two world wars and whatever else shit since then π
Here's a video investigating the matter which is also where I first heard this story from
And if you want to try it... Just hit Dyer's Burgers Memphis on Google ππ
