... Another coin for the stack!
Let's see what we got this time 😍🥳
Woot! Another German piece! A 2 reichsmark from 1934 to be more precise.
Let's have a closer look:
A nice building on the front, the Garrison Church in Potsdam:
The Garrison Church (German: Garnisonkirche) was a Protestant church in the historic centre of Potsdam. Built by order of King Frederick William I of Prussia according to plans by Philipp Gerlach from 1730 to 1735, it was considered as a major work of Prussian Baroque architecture. After it was damaged during the British bombing in World War II, the East German authorities demolished the church in 1968. After the German reunification the Garrison Church is currently being rebuilt as a centre for remembrance and reconciliation. source and more info
Let's have a look at the back:
Pretty standard stuff here. The imperial German eagle, the minting date and value denomination. You don't even need to know German to understand the inscriptions :)
When it comes to silver, not great not terrible. 8 g 0.625 silver, which means exactly 5 g of silver.
By the way, this is a commemorative piece for the 1st Anniversary of Nazis into power, making it the second piece of Nazi history in my collection. Surprisingly, no swastikas here. My bad, actually there are 🤣 I guess I must now go and find a second commie coin as well to bring balance in my collection 🤣
In case you wonder, this piece cost me exactly 10 euros. Yeah, a steep price considering the spot price but I think I did good according to some prices I found online. Plus, I have a feeling I won't have a hard time reselling this, if I decide so, with all those Nazi retards out there and buy myself even more silver 🤣
