What's up plebs?
Look at this fancy gift our youngest family member received today:
This was an unexpected but much appreciated gesture from a good friend that knows my appreciation for the shiny.
Design wise, I find it perfect! I love the minimalistic design. And I love oth the smooth surface on the one side and the rough wood-like surface on the other.
Fyi, it's 14 carats or 0.585 gold.
The accompanying chain is also made of gold, again 14 karats
With current prices of gold I guess a reasonable estimate is that this is a 500$+ piece.
As I have mentioned in the past, I am a pleb mostly focusing on buying silver. One of the reasons is because gold is just too expensive to buy in a meaningful amount that you can actually enjoy holding in your hands. My last gold purchase was a 0.5 g coin and that one was just so tiny. Lol.
These are some quick pics I just took and will soon hit the bed. Tomorrow first thing in the morning I will be moving it to my super secret crypt were the majority of my silver and golden family jewels reside for safety reasons.
Maybe if I am not lazy I will make a photo shoot of all my golden pieces to make you jelly. Truth is I am lucky enough to have inherited a significant amount of gold and the plan is to pass the pile on the next generation. Just a bit bigger. And hopefully they will either do the same or at least do something useful with it.
Ok plebs, I think this is enough for today. See you soon with more shiny ^_^
