I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 5 years now. I gotta say, diesel/liquidity pools are pretty fricking badass, and my fascination and passion for them continue to grow the deeper I dive into these pools. I always knew that they were very useful, but holy wow, with sufficient liquidity, the daily payouts in lots of very useful and valuable token assets, become quite substantial indeed. That daily rain of tokens can then be used in various ways, such as staking, delegating, selling, swapping, or adding them to the same or new pools. The usefulness and benefits to having assets in diesel/liquidity pools goes even beyond that, however.
First and foremost, diesel/liquidity pools help to stabilize the prices of the tokens in them, which is very important indeed. We've all seen many tokens swing wildly in price, up and down, and these asset-paired pools ameliorate this widely-oscillating effect. One of the most useful things to do when creating a new token is to also create at least one diesel/liquidity pool for it as well, so as to begin with a more stable value.
Another excellent aspect about liquidity pools is that the assets in them, while they are generating new assets, are also basically in liquid form because they can be removed from the pools and used for other purposes, instantly, without any wait period, unlike staking or delegating. This is a wonderful double benefit to making use of diesel pools.
Pools can also be used to save and resurrect dead tokens, such as with DVS and DHEDGE, which now have no other use than to add to the DVS:DHEDGE pool. Given that it is an excellent pool, this also increases the value and market prices of these tokens as well, since people need to acquire them to add to the pool. There are gagglefucks of presently useless tokens on Hive Engine that could certainly be put to far better utility if pools were created for them.
Of all the diverse ways to generate assets and consistentent, stable, and dependable income on Hive, liquidity pools are at the top of the list. Assets in many pools, like the ATX and PWR pools, grow quite quickly, which brings with it ever-greater leverage. Yes, solid income tokens and layer-1 and layer-2 delegations are definitely are also very useful and important, of course, however liquidity pools tend to be more stable and consistent over time, which logically means that larger investments in them would be a very good idea indeed, and investing in them I am. With a solid, substantial, and stable base of daily SWAP.HIVE income from various pools, many options open up, from converting it to HIVE to power up, acquiring good income tokens (which can also generate HIVE for powerups), swapping some for off-chain assets like SWAP.LTC to send and utilize outside Hive, or to continuing to create even deeper liquidity in excellent pools. Given the significance of good liquidity pools in terms of asset and income generation, I've decided to focus the majority of my investments there for the time being, since the long-term benefits are are impressive, and it will provide me with a means to grow my account strongly in all areas, in both layer 1 and layer 2. With this being the case, I've changed my mind about using my soon-to-be-available $300 investment into Hive to boost HP. Although that's important, and something that I will do soon, my plan is to use it, and the rest of my DRIP devestment, to add as much liquidity as possible into the SWAP.HIVE:PWR and DVS:DHEDGE pools, which will give very notable benefits, especially in terms of daily SWAP.HIVE income. Yep, I'm excited, and I can barely wait!
Yesterday, Wednesday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive tasks, around 2PM, giving my attention first to some photography for these posts. When I had a good batch taken, I got my machete and began clearing my old nursery space behind the Landing, to create a place to start salvaging plants from my new nursery, which presently is in complete chaos and disarray, and where the conditions are not ideal. This old nursery is a lot smaller (but it's fenced to keep wild pigs out, and it's more protected), so I'm going to have to get very creative, as I have a lot of plants, but this is a necessary and important step, and I felt quite accomplished and satisfied after my first round of work was done. When I had finished the first round of clearing, I took a short token-management break up at the Flow House, and then I got my machete one more time to go collect a wheelbarrow full of assorted edible foliage for cow-milking food. When I had that done, I stopped by the Landing to make myself some food (a simple grilled cheese, on sourdough, with honey mustard), and to get my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, and then I headed back to the Flow House, to dive into my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. I wasn't able to get through them all, unfortunately, finally needing to stop around 12:30AM, and after some token management, going to bed around 12:45AM. I woke up just after 7:15AM, after sleeping pretty well, doing more token management, starting on this post, then getting out of bed to go make my superfood fire coffee, and to milk Daisy with Jo. As soon as milking was done, I dropped some supplies off at the Landing and at Soozi's place, before returning to the Flow House to write the rest of this post. It's now just after 12:30PM, so a fantastic time to end this post, so that I may get to my few other important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to first take more photos for these posts, and for my entry in the Shadow Hunters Contest, strain and blend kefir (kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao) in the Landing, and then community/land work. 2025 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
