Another case of Plagiarism on the Blockchain

While going through some of my old articles on a different writing platform (read.cash), I decided to re-check them on a plagiarism detector- a habit I developed since I discovered someone had plagiarised my content and made money off my Axie Infinity related articles on the hive blockchain at some point using my name and picture as mentioned in the publication Identity theft and Impersonation.

Surprisingly, yesterday I decided to scan the article 5 ways to improve your savings! and the result led to a shocking discovery as seen in below image.

The plagiarism detector did not lead back to the original publication but to a plagiarised post written by username @sathsara on the Steemit blockchain.

The original article which is mine was published on the 16th of March (four 4 months ago) while the plagiarized version was published about two months ago.

The original

Versus the fake!

This user didn't make any attempt to modify the original article but simply did a copy-paste with the only difference being the lead image and extra images added, without linking back to the original source or crediting the author for the effort.

Here is the Original post
Here is the Plagiarised post

I have an unused Steemit account which I created about two months ago, turns out that the plagiarist gave me a good reason to login once more.

The user has been downvoted and reported on the Steemit blockchain by Mr @Jamerusell and I, as seen below.

Before making a report, I did a quick scan of the plagiarist's articles down to his introduction post to check if anymore of my article have been copied but it turns out to be just this one.

I also searched the username on the hive blockchain to see if such person exists so I could investigate further and perhaps report the user to the hive watchers on the discovery of any other suspicious activity, but turns out this person isn't here yet or perhaps here but with a different username.

This is not the first time I'd see articles from read.cash being plagiarised on the Steemit and Hive blockchain, this wouldn't be the last. It all boils down to the fact that articles on read.cash do not appear on plagiarism detector for reasons unknown (which is a major disadvantage for the writers on the platform), thus making them easy to steal.

Conclusion

Some people are too lazy to create their own content and would prefer to steal other people's content while making money off their effort and hard work. I may have caught this person today but this is only one out of many scams in the world of content creation.

Plagiarism is a serious offence and something I wouldn't tolerate especially since I've once been a victim, hence the habit of scanning my old articles every once in a while to ensure the safety of my intellectual property.

The Hive blockchain is all about transparency and sustainability, hence plagiarism will not be taken lightly.

If you're a plagiarist on the Steemit or Hive blockchain, I will find you and will report you!

Apparently, some people do what they like. I imagine someone else making money from my work, after all the time and effort spent on creating 'em. it'd be really disheartening.
I hope this person learns his lesson.

It can be very disheartening.

Right now I'm on the look out for content thieves and will continue to expose them without bias.

Just by seeing the links under your blog you are not the on;y one, but great that you took the advice and made a blog, I hope it helps. Ofcourse I will vote for you

Yes, I also saw that too. It's painful really truly that someone will just earn cheap cash off someone else's hard work.

I just had to write about it in a bid to expose this person. I will continue to expose content thieves and will make sure they do not flourish in the world of content creation.

Thanks for the advice and the upvote!

That will always be a possibility where there are people wanting to earn. So keep controlling your multiple accounts on different platforms and see if the plagues are not on the same platform
And good luck

Thanks ma'am!

You're welcome @uchihanagato! Have a nice day 😊👍

I never understood people who use other people's content. What is so hard about writing your own content? These people often complain later that their content got downvoted by Hivewatcher or other guys. What did you expect?

The problem is.. some people are too lazy to even try. They think they have no creativity up their sleeves and are not willing to make any attempt to to develop themselves via learning and practice.
They prefer the easy way out. Then they'd complain they were downvoted.

I'm constantly on the look out for content thieves. I will find them and expose them.

You are so right ith the lazy short way. I know people who wants to lose weight and exercise, but they are looking for new expensive fancy easy-going fat loss tools or pills.

The easy way out init!
