The African Mentality on Women expression

In this video I addressed this societal norm that doesn't allow women to express their emotions and love interests without the fear of being judged.

Women are often considered cheap and 'throwing themselves at men' whenever they express their feelings and emotions to a person of interest. This is simply borne out of the weird African culture that doesn't allow women to express themselves as they see fit.

Asking women to not express their feeling is indirectly asking them to throw away what makes them human because our emotion is what makes us who we are.

I don't think it's only African culture that prevents women from expressing thier feelings towards the opposite sex or express their feelings at all. I think that's why I am in strong support of the feminist movement.

I understand. But what do you have have say about the overall consideration of women as cheap whenever they express their feelings and attraction towards the opposite sex?

This is really educating,in my own opinion I think women are more romantic and tend to fall in love faster than men and I feel like they should be able to express their feelings, once I travelled and I met a cool guy I just went to him and told him I like him and I want to be his friend and he gave me his number that’s how we became friend and we can actually be more than that, before I can go and meet someone and tell him I like him I would have know how he reasons things.

That's really brave of you to have walked up to him.

Truth is.. a majority of men actually appreciate it when women express themselves freely. Unfortunately, momen are mostly judged by other women and some men with a poor sense of reasoning.

I agree with your opinion. Women around be allowed to express themselves as there's nothing wrong wrong it. They're humans as well.

I feel that because the population of ladies are going up that's why most society think so.. It sad that people are like this.. I hope this initiative can change

Population? I don't think so. This weird culture has always been since the onset.

Well, what's your take on the issue at hand?

The African society is not fair to women as they often considered as material and as personal effect for men's use.

This needs to be changed!

Women should be allowed to express themselves freely and shouldn't be judged when they do.

Thanks for your contribution. Women are humans too and should be allowed to act as such.

Even women make jest of themselves. How do you think a woman will feel or react seeing her fellow woman opening up to a man.
It's all messed up!

Yea, that happens too. The best thing is for the newer generations to be taught properly by their parents inorder to eradicate such mentality.

It's a shame innit!

Well, african women rearly speaks up because they believe it's a guy responsibility or obligation of some sort. But i believe it's good because the reaction of the guy will help you determine if he really wants you or he just wants your body. Then, the girl can make her choice then though she might be hurt emotionally if it's the latter.

I'm sorry but I'd have to disagree. They don't speak up because society doesn't allow them to because of the weird belief that women are meant to be below the men hence their feelings are often considered invalid.

There's no such thing as responsibility when it comes to matters of the heart. If you like someone and you choose to not express yourself but hope he will express himself instead then something is wrong somewhere aftrall you're the one with the feelings.

Expressing yourself simply means you identify your feelings and you're willing to act it out. Now, if whoever you're expressing yourself to isn't interested in you, it's quite simple. It's nothing to be worried about.

But the mentality of considering it a man's responsibility to do the wooing is wrong because.. each individual has his or her own free will and can express themselves as they see fit. Hence as a man, I can express myself to my love interest, similarly a woman is allowed to express herself to her love interest too. It has nothing to do with responsibility.- That's simply the weird African culture I was addressing in the video.

Honestly thank you for bringing this up
They forget that before any gender division
We're all humans
With emotions
And the need for expression

I for once have never considered any woman who expresses her emotions cheap
I think that is the bravest thing a woman would do

In this African societal norms we find ourselves

Not allowing women to express their emotions but asking them to keep it to themselves is equivalent to asking them to throw away makes them humans.

Regardless of gender, we are emotional beingd are should have the right to express ourselves however we see fit.

Society isn't nice to women I find it disturbing

Very interesting and educating I hope it gets across every African youth who really needs to know about this💪
