Oh how I love days like this.
Days one can indulge the comfort of ones bed for a little bit longer than usual. Days you don't get to wake up very early from the sound of the alarm clock.
It's been raining cats and dogs since 3am this morning and am still in bed at 10am, still lazing about. But off course it's the weekend, and I can enjoy that rare luxury of being nonchallant .
When the french said "Le weekend est un moment pour profiter de la vie et se sentir heureux" meaning, the weekend is a time to enjoy life and feel happy, I guess they meant weekends like this. Perfect settings for a fun day.
For most people the weekend is a gift, especially if you are in a country like mine where pressure from work can drive you crazy and impact negatively on your mental health. The best you can do about this gift is to enjoy it to the fullest.
As much as I love and look forward to the weekend, probably the best days of the week for me. The truth is, not all weekend are same for me. For my kind of work, some of my weekends gets hijacked by this works, especially if there are tight deadlines to meet. But the week I observe a proper weekend, I pull all the stops. Speaking of which, this weekend is looking like being one of them days. So, Time to ball.
My weekends normally starts on Saturdays just like today. Like I said earlier, it's been raining since the early hours of the day but has stopped now. Giving way to a bright sunshine.
As usual on weekends , I have a couple of things lined up for today and tomorrow being Sunday. I hardly go out on Saturdays but today I will be going to the park. I am taking my friend there . I always enjoy the beauty and natural scenery of the park each time I find myself there.
But before I go, I will be performing my normal Saturday rituals.
Most people, even my friends, don't know I cook very well. I can very well hold my own when it comes to cooking. I love snacks and most weekends I love preparing them myself.
So, aside cooking the regular solids I will be making some meat pies sausage rolls and probably some cake bread for my tea. Trust me you will always look for me if you taste any of my food,lol.
Am a big movie freak. Saturdays are days I binge watch a lot of series and movies.
If I was not going to the park later today, I would surely be engaging my normal Saturday pastime. As a matter of fact I have loads and loads of blockbusters waiting for me.
By the way did I tell you am also a football fan? I guess you know what most Saturdays are to football fans. They are sacred, as I get to watch and support my team. So you know, am a Chelsea fan and we are winning the league next season, lol.
Sundays? Of course I go to church as a christian. As a routine, I always try to visit one or two friends after service on my way back home. I normally don't get back to the house till much later in the day. But for tomorrow, since I will be doing some visiting and going to the park today, I will be going to the cinema.
I would love to watch some latest release. Have heard so much about the movie 'Barbie', I intend seeing it.
Like anyone else, my weekend ends on Sunday night. They say the weekend is made in China,they don't last long, lol. I think I I believe it. I mean, how do you explain how time flies on Saturdays and Sunday but crawls on week days. Though full of fun while they lasted.
For most parts, nothing actually dulls my weekend. It is most enjoyable if I had a profitable week as I would have enough funds to play with. Even when the funds are not there, I simply stay indoors. I have a small solar back up so power is not an issue. I can choose to just watch movies all day or even sleep as much as I can. So I just sleep, relax, eat, watch movies, re energise, rinse and repeat, fini .
Monday we kick start a new week. The hustle begins all over, the early morning alarm bell sets in, till its another weekend again. Then it's fun mode.
