A famous adage is
Nothing is bad or good, it is its use which makes it good or bad.
When I was in my school, I was part of discipline committe and in the college I was head of same discipline committee. The responsibility of the discipline committee was to ensure that academic decorum doesn’t get disturbed by any breach of rules. Mobiles were strongly prohibited. Every day,inspections were to be made to ensure no one possess mobiles or electronic gadgets. I still remember the thrill there used to be at time of inspection. Lolz
Though that time I was part of that “Searchlight operation” but today I discourage this act. The world has entered into digitised era. Everything has computerized and digitised. The conventional methadologies whether of working or education has been replaced by digital methods. Then pen and book culture has been left behind and to produce updated and competent generation, the students must be apprise of new progresses and trends.
People usually say that mobiles become a great distraction for children. Providing them with phone at younger age will divert their attentions from studies and creativity. Their concerns are real but it is only we who are responsible for it. We have made mobiles entertainment source for our kids. We have not taught them how they can use this mobile in their side. We didn’t teach them positive role of moblies and left mobile for them to eatch cartoons or text or scroll social media.
AI is a source of comprehensive and personified education. AI can be a source of improving creativity if used properly . Many novel ideas can be generated through it by inserting proper and creative commands. But either we have not give access of it to our kids or we have left it to them just to write typical essays or solve mathematical equations.
There is dire need to change curriculum and pedagogical methods. We must digitised our teaching and schooling methods. Instead of refraining our kids from digital gadgets, we must introduce them by oroper teaching and counselling. We must teach them productive use of electronic gadgets so that they can use it for creative and productive purposes rather than entertainment purposes only.
Even in the longer turn this will not impact bad. The use of everything make it good or bad. We are being taught that pen is to write not to injure anyone with its sharp nib. This is exactly we must encourage the good use of mobiles and this is only possible if we leave our conventional approach and accustom us to modern needs of the hour.
There is alot of hue and cry about AI. Many predict it as monster who can enslave the humans. They have forgot that it is human who has created it. If it can evolve into better form ,why can’t we evolve us to best version so that we always keep priority over it. Inshort refraining the next generation of the things which are essemtial for tgeir survival and overall progress of world will impact world in longer run.
