FIRE VS FIRE - SPLINTERLANDS [PT-BR/ENG]

O Mordeus e o Last Worm conseguiram eliminar duas cartas do adversário e trouxeram a vantagem numérica para o meu time.

Today my Brawls matches were really tense. Summoner Kelya Frendul is sorely missing from my Splinterlands collection and I'm considering purchasing her at level 5 soon.

But while I still don't buy (and I don't even rent because I find it too expensive) this summoner, I'll make do with what she gives. In the game I'll share today I opted for a composition of Fire and my opponent too, creating a hot match!

As I said before, the matches I played today weren't very favorable for me. This was the rule of the battle in question:

image.png

The only Splinter I don't own rented cards is Earth and my best Water Splinter cards are Magic Damage cards (and they were unavailable because of Lost Magic ). As I didn't want to rent Kelya just for this game, I had to choose Splinter from Fire and assemble the best composition possible.

Since there was a lot of mana available I took my best units with the highest mana cost. My opponent did the same thing (Kelya was banned for him) but chose a single lower cost card that made a lot of difference at the start of the match.

Battle.

Note that our teams were very similar, having only two different cards. One of those cards that the opponent chose was the Supply Runner because of its ability Swiftness which increased the speed of all cards in your team. This buff made a total difference as it made all of the opponent's cards have priority in the attack order.

Before even managing to launch his attack, my Forgotten One was hit by 5 cards from the opponent, and the attacker who delivered the final blow was Chimney Wallstop who managed to activate his effect of Bloodlust . Forgotten even tried but missed his Retaliate (pathetic).

Finally it was my cards' turn to attack. Although the enemy Sand Worm managed to take my Ettin's life away, he was eliminated with a single hit from Mordeus. Unfortunately my Chimney decided to abuse his bad luck and missed his attack with a 10% chance.

Things weren't going my way. In the second round the two cards from the first position were eliminated, but now my two high damage assassins started to make the difference. Mordeus and Last Worm managed to eliminate two of the opponent's cards and brought the numerical advantage to my team.

At this moment I started to get more confident as there were chances of winning because of the numerical advantage and having eliminated the opponent's Swiftness . Unfortunately that confidence was quickly shattered when at the beginning of the third round the enemy Lava Launcher broke mine's armor and shortly after came the Chimney Wallstop attack that caused 7 damage and managed to eliminate it, activating again your Bloodlust .

This buff increased all his stats by +1 and this allowed him to be attacked by Mordeus and Ettin Spear and still manage to survive with 2 health (the exact amount of health+armor received). Unfortunately the Sand Worm wasted its attack by breaking the opponent's Lava Launcher armor, allowing the Chimney to stay alive for the next round.

Because he was already buffed a lot, his speed allowed him to eliminate one more card before finally being killed, leaving only the Lava Launcher that caused a lot of damage to the Sand Worm. He fought back, leaving the opponent with only 1 health, but 1 is enough to stay alive...

When looking at the speed of the cards you might have wondered what happened at the start of the fifth round. That 1 life left allowed Lava Launcher to eliminate my two cards and make me lose this Brawl.

There were so many twists and turns in this match that in some moments I thought I was going to lose and in others I believed in the possibility of victory, but in the end a Miss was enough to allow the opponent to win at the limit!

You can't win them all, but some games manage to make the bitter taste of defeat in your mouth and this was one of them. Damn Chimney Wallstop with his Bloodlust and perfect speed to deliver the final blows 🙃

Eliminating Sand Worm with a single heat sounds amazing. It looks like that heat saved a lot of damage as Sand Worm was holding 6 melee.
Good battle strategy.

Sand Worm was perfect in this battle!
