Good day everyone. This is my participation on the week 34 of the @hive-reachout weekly prompt. I would love to share with you guys how I have benefited a great deal from this amazing platform Hive.
I am gifted as an artist. I love to rap. I have been into music for quite some years now. And for artists, especially the ones that are upcoming, one of the things we seek the most are platforms where we can meet with other fellow artists alike and also where we can get recognized and appreciated for our talents.
For sometime now I've been into content creation, creating short music cover videos on social media, but I didn't quite get the outcome I was expecting. It was as though no one was noticing my efforts. It could be really frustrating spending hours putting together a content from the audio/video recording and not to talk of the video editing as well and at the end of the day it's as if all efforts went unrewarded.
But as unencouraging as it was, I still had my immediate family and few friends of mine that encouraged me and appreciated my efforts. And then this amazing friend of mine, @kingworldline, saw some potential in me. He was one of the few friends that actually motivated me and gave me reason not to relent on my craft.
He then told me about a platform where I can get in contact with other gifted people like me, and not just that, I could also get monetary reward for those type of music videos I was posting on social media and wasn't receiving a dime. This part was what got me more interested and attentive to what he was saying. Brothers and sisters, that was how I joined Hive.
I came across amazing communities like @vibes, @hiveopenmic, @Afri-tunes and the rest. I was privileged to come across many other gifted artists like me and have learnt a lot from them which really helped me grow as an artist. Not to mention the compensation I have received for posting on the communities. All these wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for my good friend who introduced me to these amazing platform.
Before that time, I had no idea that there was a platform as this where as a lover of music you can be able to connect with other like-minded people as you and also get rewarded for your talent. Although, this can be achieved on social media but it can be quite difficult, especially getting to the stage of being paid for all your hardwork. But it's quite different with Hive.
It has really been quite a wonderful experience being on this platform. Being able to receive appreciation for your effort, there's something it does to you you know. Why some people stop doing some certain things is because they feel they are wasting their time and most times is because people don't encourage them as they ought to. But when people encourage them, there is this feeling of importance within them and a desire to do more. This is what Hive has succeeded in doing for me through those communities.
