College life is so demanding. Sometimes I wonder why, when I was in high school, I was still able to enjoy myself even though we went to school at 7 a.m. in the morning and the class ended around 4 p.m. Now that I'm in college, we're only at the university for a few hours, but I'll come home tired and sometimes even stressed because of the pile of other work.
Since I am now on my last term in college, I expected the heavy tasks that would be given to us. Lately, I've been stressing too much about the thesis I'm doing, and at the same time, other personal matters, including my sideline, have added. Sometimes I've been toxic to myself, and suddenly I feel strangely tired. It feels like I don't like what I'm doing in life anymore, and I feel like I really don't need to do it because it's a requirement, or else other people will look down on me.
Anyway, that was just a short gist of what's happening in my life. But today, I wanted to share with you some memorable times with my classmates.
I went to our university at 1 o'clock with bad news, telling us that our professor would not meet us. Actually, it's very disappointing to other students like me because we spend a lot of time preparing just to get in and get stuck in traffic for a few hours just to attend early. Then suddenly announce that we will not be able to hold a face-to-face class all of a sudden? So since many of us are already at school, we just pushed through to do the other agenda that day, which is to have a meeting regarding the upcoming webinar on Saturday. I was appointed to be a technical committee leader, and one of my roles is to manage our FB page as well as post some announcements on the said page. We are also given a function to create a teaser for the said webinar and also manage the zoom link. As a technical representative, I also had time to update the other committee regarding our next agendas.
After the meeting, my research group and I went to our Research advisor office to get him to sign the validation certificate to proceed to our survey. As of today, we are halfway to our quota, and I am expecting to get the tally before October ends.
Since we have free time, we managed to go to the Greenfield District. Actually, I was supposed to have a food trip by myself, but because I also wanted to unwind, I ended up joining my classmates. Actually, I am a social butterfly, so it is not difficult for me to socialize with other people. But most of the time, I go alone because I enjoy it. Some people have asked me if I am an ambivert, and I do believe that it is so true.
Greenfield District on Shaw Boulevard is a bit far from our university, but my classmates and I walked there. Walking long distances is not a problem for me because I am used to walking every day, and I believe strolling also benefits me physically.
We reached the Greenfield by 4:48 p.m and we sat down for a few minutes to rest. There were some students as well who were playing and the others were also dancing. I believe they are also a student from our university based on their clothes and ID laces. And I think they were practicing some dance for the university that will also be held by this week. I am planning to attend because it is my last year in college and I want to spend some time enjoying college life. I also want to feel the joyful moments remaining here in university and I always remind myself that this will only happen once in my life and I should have gotten a chance to witness it.
Going back to the Greenfield, after some moments, we decided to play "Habulan" or Tag game. First, I don't want to participate because I haven't run in a long time. But since I don't want to be a killjoy, I agreed to join them. That game was so hard because, as a player, you need to be so fast when chasing the other players. They didn't know that I was a great runner a few years ago so some of the girls had difficulty chasing me. But at the last minute, I got chased by one of the boys. He was so fast, and I almost gave up running.
And because they were tired, they thought of a new game. This is called "Batuhang Bola" or dodgeball. This game is easier and trouble-free than the first one because you are just in a small circle and you just have to avoid being hit by a ball. It lasted for about an hour, and we totally enjoyed it. Because we were so dog-tired, we decided to go home.
The day was so great, and I really had fun interacting with them. To be honest, I've been so stern with them in terms of our academics, but I am trying to avoid being such a strict leader and also limiting myself to where and when to be authoritarian.
Anyways, that concludes a short time with some of my college pals and I am hoping to experience more before I graduate. 😇💖
