Homeschool for a day because of a Strike

in #hive-165757last year

Good morning everyone! Yesterday, my loving one couldn't go to school because there was an ongoing Jeepney strike in our city. Some of the Jeepney drivers joined the protest and many people especially those working employees got stranded. At the same time, many universities in college suspended the classes. Since my son is in elementary, they did not suspend the class, however, his adviser wasn't in school because of an emergency. Since my son got bullied many times and I'm afraid it will happen again because his adviser is absent and no teacher will look after them, I just decided not to let him go to school. But because there are topics he will miss, I took the whole day to review him. That day, his grandparents were not in the house that's why I enjoyed teaching him even more. His grandparents discipline and teaching approach is very different when they are here with my son that's why I really made sure that the day with him would be calm and joyful.

Our day started at 8 o'clock in the morning. I was having a cramp on my belly that's why it was a bit difficult for me to move. However, I insisted my son and I go out for a while to buy bread and coffee for our breakfast. I thought it was sunny outside but sadly, it was overcast and it looked like it was going to rain all day so my son didn't enjoy the walk much. He even wanted to bring his scooter but I told him that it will be difficult for us to bring it when it rains.

My son didn't insist anymore. He is easy to talk to unlike other children who still throw tantrums. There are moments when he is like that, but I noticed that as he grows, he understands things faster. I am glad because I can see him developing. A few months ago he was really like a late bloomer kid. But I am really trying my best so that he has better character development. I have said earlier that he was being bullied by his classmates at school. Last week, I decided to go to the guidance office to report this kid that had been physically attack my child. Actually, I tried to listen carefully to the mother and maybe the child is going through something. But I had enough. I was hurt when I knew he did hurt my child once again. And I can't let that pass.

Parenting is really hard. And I keep thinking about it, knowing that would be a lifelong responsibility. I'm just now thinking that having a child is good, but I keep thinking that I shouldn't bear another child. Also, I want to enjoy the moment when we were together for a long time and just the two of us. I don't want to build or add another member because the responsibility would be twice harder.. and worse. And one more thing, I want to find the real one for me first. The man who can fully accept my son and me.

Anyways, after our breakfast, we took a lot of time reviewing his modules. Youtube is one of the platforms that is really helpful when it comes to teaching a child. And I am really fortunate that I am one of those parents who can easily utilize it.

After reviewing Math, Science and other major subjects, prepared our lunch. I was so amazed because he offered to wash our dishes. At first, he used the sink very messy and I kept on inspecting some plates because there were still some sebum that was not washed well. Gladly, after many times of training, he is now getting the right way of washing the dishes.

After that, I let him watch his favorite movie on Netflix. Lately, he likes the Pokemon Series so I just let him watch it instead of the reels which are too funny for children's eyes. I want him to improve especially in speaking English because it is the most used language in our country. I am fortunate because at the age of four he already knows how to speak English and he uses it to communicate with his classmates. I thought he would be bullied because of this because he went to public school. But happily, he is okay with his classmates and there is almost no stigma among English-speaking children.

And before we end the homeschooling session, I told him a lot of horror stories. I don't remember anymore why I suddenly told him about this. Then, I asked him to draw his weird dreams. He drew a lot and colored them. He even explained what happened to that dream but his story was a bit lacking and you just have to open your imagination to fully understand what he is talking about.

Anyway, that concludes my story for today. Have a blessed week my dear parents! See you on my next blog. 🙏😊

Wow, very good 🙂

Yes he is. Thank you. 😇😇

Oh diba you had a great bonding at home.

Ehhh, at least you had the best time with your cutie son because of that strike. And daming affected coz of that, kalungkot lang. And you are really doing good being a mother, clap clap foe you being a hands on Mom ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊᵕˋ )ଓ⁾⁾

I think makatarungan naman ung strike. Pag planado naman at may approval eh pwede ituloy ang strike, nasa law kasi yan. Ang illegal is ung biglaang protest. Well ayun nga, naging ok nmn linis pa ng kalsada dahil wala gaanong jeeps. 😂

Good boy naman ng son mo sis!

Makulit din minsan ate.
