The Evil Is No More. Ecency Writing Contest #2

in #hive-1333114 days ago

The old bookstore at the end of the street had been closed for years - until today when I saw my little cousin ran out of it with a pack of crayons in her hands.

“What! What did you go and do there?” I exclaimed.

“Uncle, I went to buy my crayon with the money you gave me.” Edima answered.

“No dear! You’ve entered the wrong store! They aren't selling books there anymore since a customer died mysteriously inside it over 7 seven years ago.” I started sobbing as I explained to my little cousin.

“Really! But I met other people buying books and stationery from it.” Edima answered in dismay.

While discussing the issue with Edima, a clerk came out of the bookstore to explain to me that the bookstore had reopened.

“Good day, Sir! I could hear your voice as you were expressing your fear over your sister who came to buy from our shop.” She started.

“The story isn't the same anymore, Sir. We conducted an orientation program for the community members to inform them that the evil has been eroded. The mysterious incident can't happen again. We opened about a week ago and everything has been going smoothly.” She added

“Sorry, I was afraid. I wasn't around for more than a month now. I came in yesterday and unfortunately, I didn't pass through this side of the street so I didn't notice that anything had changed about the bookstore.” I responded.

“Has proper prayers been made to destroy the effect of the mysterious killer?” I asked.

“Yes, Sir. The Priest was here to offer prayers and ever since, there hasn't been any problem. If there are still traces of evil, I wouldn't be here either.” She explained further.

I was happy that we were not expecting any evil anymore. Much more happier that my cousin and my children will have to get their educational materials without going down to the main market which was far from our resident.
