Playing the SPlinterlands game has always been full of learning. For me, every ruleset comes with many strategies that can be adopted in life. Drawing the Healed Out ruleset for this battle with 19 manna cap almost left me startled because I love using monster units with "healing prowess". Contrarily, the "Healed Out" ruleset provides that all healing abilities are removed. This applies to summoners as well. The healing skills nullified in the ruleset include Heal, Tank Heal, and Triage.
This ruleset implies that monsters relying on these abilities to stay in the fight will have to depend on other strategies, like shields or higher health pools, to survive.
When engaging the Healed Out ruleset of Splinterlands, summoners that boost offense or defensive stats are the best choices since healing is not an option. This is why Underboss Fabino is my best summoner option with its inspire ability that boosts the attack of selected friendly monsters.
I fielded just three monsters for the fight, viz: Grund (10), Venari Scout (3), and Mycelic Morphoid (1). These three monster units had to face five monster units summoned by Tarsa. Tarsa adds Melee attack and health to its friendly monsters. However, my summoner only increased the melee attack of two of my three monster units.
See screenshots of the battle rounds as follows:
During the first round, my team had the worst hit with two monster units killed. This left Grund alone for a lone fight in the battle against 4 enemy units. Thanks to its double strike ability and the "inspire" ability of the summoner that made every round count. Unleashing 5 melee damage to the enemy monster without a miss was an edge for the fight.
It was a fierce battle that lasted four rounds. The last two surviving monsters on the battlefield could have destroyed each other, on just a matter of "which attacked first". Grund attacked first due to the double strike ability and we won the battle.
From my experience in the battle, when drawing the Healed Out ruleset, players should prioritize the following:
- Monsters with the double attack to intensify the damage to the enemy units.
- Monsters with high base health to compensate for the lack of healing.
- Damage reduction abilities like Shield, Void, or Armor, which reduce incoming damage rather than relying on healing.
- Fast, high-damage monsters to end the battle quickly since healing is not an option.
