Introduction
Good day to everyone, a week had passed in the city and it's time to update the progress of my city and the things that happen in the city. In today's post, I will be looking at some of the key NFT prices for city growth as I plan my game finances and prepare to grow the city.
What is dCity?
The game is a city simulator game based on Hive NFTs where one can create a city the way we want it to be. As players develop and grow their cities, optimization is needed in terms of buildings, city population, the income that the city yields and technological developments. While many aspects of the game can be calculated based on the simulator within the game, there is a portion of randomness in the form of crisis event which can bring different kind of impact to city which affects income or popularity. If you like the original SimCity, I am sure you will like this.
My City
The below screenshot is how my city looks like at this moment. Everything is relatively intact with no new additions. A very quiet week where some weird pricing is being observed in the market.
Unemployment currently remained at 1 which I am putting under control. Though having a soldier added last week did not help to add up the war share, it did give me a further stretch for my tax refund which is a good thing.
Something that is a little painful right now is that I am having quite a big number of young citizens, which is taking a toll on my daily SIM income. I am hoping all of them slowly grow up and be able to convert to students and subsequently becoming good citizens to the city. Temporal pain for long term benefit, sounds like a plan isn't it? Let's continue to nurture these young ones.
dCity NFT Market Watch
Part of my SIM token accumulation comes from Young Citizen sales from time to time. And this week, I didn't manage to get any sold, which got me a little puzzled.
So when I look deeper and study what are the asking price Young Citizen, I got a shock as the price really drop quite significantly as compared to when I listed my ones for sale:
Looks like we have someone whom is dumping a big chunk of Young Citizens and flooding the market with a very low number. Not sure what is going on, but it massively bring down the price of young citizens. People whom need young citizens, this is a great time to snap them up and plan for long term work force conversion.
The next thing I was trying to monitor is to consider a lottery opportunity to see if I can get good occupation Students whom are in debt by paying their debt. Price wise, not very enticing as seen below:
After paying for the debt, actually only lawyers are the enticing ones that one can hope to get and strike a jackpot due to its crazily high prices. So one can consider to instead of buying new Students with debt, might as well self groom, just that time takes a little longer, but the fun of seeing the cards move from stage to stage is a good experience.
With this in mind, I also look at the usual hunts for my citizens which include Economist, Eco-Activist, Solider, Professor and Policeman, all of them are reasonably priced and within my expectation and all below 1500 SIM. Once I gather more SIM through 2nd layer token sales, it will be time to make some new purchases to grow my city.
Current SIM Holdings
At the moment of writing, the current amount of SIM I am holding has reached 147,281 SIM. Was hoping to sell some Young Citizens to further boost the figures but market was a bit abnormal with a big release of many low prices Young Citizens. While there is growth, I am still a far notch away from becoming a SIM Millionaire which is the goal that I am working towards. Hopefully better layer 2 token sales can bring me faster to reach the goal.
Why Hold SIM?
This is reminder to all that holding SIM (or commonly known as SIM Power) brings about daily liquid hive if one having above 8000 SIM Power. SIM Power is calculated by the from the 30 days average SIM holdings.
With the increase in SIM in my Hive Engine, the 30 day average of my SIM power will continue to increase and then translate to move liquid Hive earning per day. Amount of liquid Hive per day based on current 30 day average is as seen below:
Assuming no increase in Sim Power, I will get 0.81 liquid Hive per month. The numbers continue to increase and building towards the goal I had for using the liquid Hive to fund for Hive Power Up Day as we inch towards a 1 Hive per month from just this earning. At this moment, it look a little far-fetch being able to get 10 Hive per month, however as I continue to grow, one day I know I will reach there.
Closing
Some interesting sightings in the market where there is a big "sale" of Young Citizens and also that Students in debt is not exactly at an enticing value for people to buy for a chance for lottery. I am enjoying the discovery of various portions of the game especially the market monitoring.
Special thanks to @ryosai for always answering my questions on the game, guiding me through with your patience and even helping me with my city growth.
Looking forward to the journey of growing the city!
