The hiking trip from Macedonia Hut to Ribni Ezera Hut turned out to be my favorite of the Rila Adventure that my friends and I did.
You can see the first day of the hike here.
That day we got up early in the morning before sunrise to prepare for the hike. According to data, a 6-hour trek (not including the breaks) was ahead, but given that our group was larger - 11 people, including 3 children, we would certainly have made the trek in at least 8 hours.
When we were ready to leave Macedonia hut, the sun was just rising behind the mountain peaks and colored the nature of Rila mountain with its warm hues.
It was so magical!
We started with a long climb from the hut to Big Bear Peak. The gradient was high, the early morning wind strong and cold.
Looking back, I could see the hut receding further and further away, and the views, though shrouded in clouds, hinted at their magical presence.
Reaching the ridge, we continued along it to head toward Angelov peak.
There is no water the whole way, so our backpacks are full for the long trek.
Angelov Vrah, which is named after the legendary Angel Voivode. The height of the peak is 2643 m.
We are about to descend.
We pass through a section with low mountain vegetation.
We climb again, but this time to Aladzha Slap peak, which is 2683 m high.
All the time we saw beautiful flowers between the rocks.
The scent of thyme hung in the air, and in places the tufts were still in full bloom.
In places, the views are more than impressive that we stop and enjoy, holding our breath.
The weather changes - sometimes it is very hot, sometimes the wind becomes strong and piercing.
We are heading towards Cerna Polyana peak.
Mount Cherna Polyana located 2716 m.
Here at the top we met with several groups of tourists who took different routes. We exchanged valuable information with them and continued.
The most interesting peak of the route - Pavlеv Peak (2667 m.) is forthcoming.
To cross it, we have to go through tall and steep rocks. For convenience, a steel rope was placed, which we could behave about. The transition was interesting.
The beautiful lake in the distance is the Blue lake.
The following was a crossing path from which the fish lakes began to be revealed. Such a beauty!
The descent to the Fish Lakes hut seemed quite long to us, perhaps because of the strong sun that was already burning. But approaching the lodge was so invigorating!
Tents could be seen in the surrounding area.
The lakes up close were so beautiful.
The hut is located at 2230 m. in the Ribnoezernia Circus. Apart from the massive building, the lodge also has wooden bungalows where we were accommodated.
The Fish lakes hut offered hot food, drinks and a bath.
My friends and I spent the afternoon around the lakes enjoying the amazing scenery. So much beauty gathered in one place!
Thank you for stopping by!
