At the end of April, with @deska89, @fog043 and Rumi, we made a great hiking trip to Bulgarka peak.
At that time we were in the forest hut - Bulgarka. It is located at 1070 m. altitude in the Trevne Balkan - middle Stara planina.
It was a wonderful day and we started the journey to the peak in the morning.
The hiking was pleasant and the path picturesque.
On the way we saw this fountain covered with thick green moss.
The view of the tall, slender trees was soothing and the colors of the forest created a sense of silvery presence.
On the side of the road, between the trees, we saw a huge anthill.
We saw several of these gorgeous bushes with beautiful pink flowers - Daphne mezereum or the so-called Wild Lilac.
Charming little forest violets.
As we climbed higher, we could see a bit of snow.
We went out into the open area and the path led us to a hunting lookout.
We were tempted to climb up and look down.
The peak we wanted to conquer could be seen in the distance.
We continued across the meadow, seeing some more snow and purple crocuses.
The view from the top was fabulous. A panorama of part of the Trevnenska mountain was revealed.
The peak is at a height 1445 m.a.s.l.
I soon learned from friends that in Bulgaria there are two peaks named "Bulgarka", both of which are located in Stara Planina. The one we climbed is in the middle Stara Planina, and the other one is located in the Sliven Balkan - Eastern Stara Planina.
Above we saw white flowers of White brodiaea. Some of them were still under the snow.
The walk back was just as pleasant.
