Celebrating Graduation With My Pupils

in #hive-110605 months ago

Greetings Hivers and welcome to my blog.
Today was a really great day, I had fun and so did the students and pupils. Today being Wednesday was the graduation ceremony at my place of work. The children really did well and performed excellently.

The party started with the welcoming song presented by the primary 1 pupils, it was going really beautifully till their teacher messed it up a little. She didn't play their song which we were expecting.

Then the national anthem was sang by a KG 2 pupil, I was really socked and impressed no one was expecting a KG 2 pupil to sing the national anthem from first verse to the third without mistake.

After that, the cultural dance was presented. We had the ilaje cultural dance, ikale cultural dance and the urhobo cultural dance. I couldn't contain my joy when I saw the children performing, most of the performances we the staffs didn't even see them do the practice so we were amazed when we saw them perform and they did well.

Here the children got me upset and I refused to snap with them, they started begging me I had to continue the pictures.

Here, a parent was complaining of the child's score being low that I would have added mark and I explained that the child didn't read and I always shout in class for the children to go and read their book. There are some teachers that add mark and give children position because they know they will get money or gifts from their parents, me I'm not one of those teachers, I don't do favouritism when it comes to academics. Whatever you get is what I give you, it causes issues between myself and the management because they always expect me to add scores for the children.

CLASS BY CLASS PRESENTATION
After a cultural dance is presented a class will be called upon to come and present. KG presented and nursery classes all presented, sometimes when you see some children talk you'll ask yourself are these ones kids. That was what most of the KG children did, when I heard them present I had to ask their teacher, 'are you sure this child is in your class?'

Because this young man has started walking, he refused to stay one place.

KG, nursery 1, 2, and primary 2 were the only classes called up for presentation. Other classes wasn't called up, I was really pissed, I had to ask the person that drafted the order of program and he assured me that my class would be called as my students kept asking me and almost choked me. I wasn't angry that my class wasn't called up, I was angry because he knew that it's not all classes that would perform and made me waste my time and effort to teach the children.

A parent of one of the pupils in my class was also annoyed and she complained to me, I tried explaining to her but she wasn't hearing. I had to take her to the management so they will also explain to her. The proprietress was now asking me why I didn't talk as my class wasn't called, I explained I met the person in charge and he said he would call my class to perform that I met him several times and he ignored him.

At the end of the party, I decided to take pictures with my pupils. Those children can be annoying sometimes and funny sometimes, all the same we had fun.

After sharing the report card, two of my pupils came to meet me, they had both written letter to me, thanking me for teaching them and also praying for me. One collected my number but the other one wasn't bold enough to ask me for my number. I am really proud of my children, they all surprised me in their academics.

All images are mine and was taken with my techno phone.

Wow. This was beautiful. The relationship between you and your pupils is incredibly touching

Thanks a lot for stopping by. In my years of teaching, I haven't taught pupils like these.

This is nice. Congratulations to your pupils 🥳

Thanks

Welcome 🤗

Awwww. This is so beautiful.

This was just so nostalgic for me. I remember when I was a teacher too.

Being an educator has to be one of the most important careers in the world cos you're responsible for shaping the mind of the future generation.

Lol, the part of the parent complaining about the score got me though. I love how you were stern and pointed out the need for them to do better instead of having to add marks for the kids.

😊😊😊
The letter though. So cute!!!

Thank you for all you do for the future generation. We appreciate you.

It really is, I remember when I was in secondary school, I said I would never be a teacher but look at me today, I'm proud of myself.

That is one thing I can't do, no matter how much I'm being paid.

The letter though. So cute!!!

Thanks
