Being bored isn't something strange for me personally, probably because I'm used to being on my own and tend to have little outgoings aside from my offline job, so given my constant experience with being bored and how annoying it can be to have nothing to do, I've come to devise several mediums via which I can cope with it, overcome it, and reinstate myself to being cheerful and having things to do again, and in this article I'll walk you through some of those.
I believe we all know it's normal for introverts to enjoy the comfort of their homes, so that's why I said I'm used to being bored, because being indoors for too long can lead to such, and that's why it's been easy for me to get accustomed to being bored and devising a way out, and the first step towards achieving that is to first realize I'm bored and needed some form of activity or fun to light up my mood.
I don't usually do the same thing all the time to get out of boredom, and on some of those days what I do is to simply find a means of connecting with others, which could be placing a call to a friend, family, or loved ones, or joining a social media conversation, such as discord groups and the like. This goes on to entertain me and light up my mood, and on other occasions I use that opportunity to organize my place.
There are times when I'm bored, and in a bid to get myself busy, I'll just go look around the house to see what needs tidying up, and if there's none, I sometimes use the opportunity to be creative by rearranging or redecorating the house; this gives me room to think and gets my mind and hands busy and occupied. Other times, I just look for things that'll help challenge my mind, such as puzzles, games, and the like.
Playing games is one of my go-to places when I'm bored, and aside from the action packs I'm used to, sometimes I just opt for the academic or puzzle ones that make me crack my brain till I get the right combinations. Still on the list of some of the things I do when bored. We all know that mostly times when we've nothing doing, it's when we usually have time to think, so I used to take advantage of sucky boredom to set new goals, think about my life, reminisce on some of my decisions, and the like.
Most of all my new found hobby that I stopped for some time, often when I'm bored now, I find myself picking up a book to read; this gets my mind occupied and also fills me in with different intriguing stories. Most of all, coping with boredom isn't much of a big deal for me personally, and that's because I'm used to being by myself, which tends to lead to boredom.
So with that being said, I'll say I deal with boredom very well and don't really have issues with coping with it at all, and the reasons are because of some of the things I highlighted above; they've through the years helped me overcome boredom and ultimately put a smile on my face again.
In everything we do, my advice is that we find a way to get busy and stay away from idleness because it can be tricky sometimes, and just like we all know the popular saying that an idle hand is the devil's workshop, don't be a tool for the devil, utilize those times to indulge in creative things, develop mechanisms that'll help you cope and get over bored, and in the end you'll be pleased you do as you'll be back to your lively self once again.
