Making a sweet rice cake

in #foodlast year

So today I decided to cook with one of the popular Biko Kakanin or Sweetened Rice Cake which exists in the Philippines...it is a famous recipe which many people here love to have during the weekend..

So first and foremost, let me quickly introduce all the main ingredients which I will be making use of , here is how to actually make this Sweet Rice Cake recipe.

So these are what you really need inorder to be able to make this recipe.

My ingredients:
• 1 kilo cook malagkit rice
• 1/4 kilo brown sugar
• 1/2 kilo kinugay
• skinless salted peanut
• 2 glasses coconut gata
• lemon skin

The Preparation:

• Before i begin the pre-cooking , you prepare first on how to make a coconut gata. So I will add a 2 glass of water into the grind coconut meat, then i will squeeze it inorder to make a coconut gata.

• And next, is my pre-cooking of the malagkit rice. So I cook first this malagkit rice for about 20-25 minutes. And when it is soft, sticky and fluppy and all of my ingredients was all ready. So this is the time I have started to cook my Sweet Rice Cake recipe

My Cooking Tips:
• Turn on the stove and put the frying pan then heat it. Pour the 2 glasses coconut gata and strain it with a wire net strainer.

Then add the 1/2 kilo kinugay and 1/4 kilo brown sugar.

Followed with the lemon skin and the skinless salted peanut.

• Stir it with a laddle and make the continuous stirring inorder to make it sticky

And when it already looks sticky then add the 1 kilo cook malagkit rice. Mix it thoroughly inorder to have a fluppy result

And then this is the finished product of my recipe.

Ready to serve.

In the afternoon I was told by my wife to buy a pork meat for our viand for the dinner in All Saints Day.

And 1 kilo sweet potato for the snacks. I immediately go to the nearest meat shop in our place located at corner soong center, mactan lapu-lapu city. Then ride with my motorcycle I'll just came easily to the place...

I'll buy a 1 kilogram pork meat slice which cost 320.00 and 45.00 sweet potato Philippine peso. Which is good enough to consume for my entire family for meal. I'll buy also some spices for my recipe.
