Songsan SS Dolphin.

in #carslast year

Songsan is a Chinese company that started its activity in 2000 from the trade and modernization of classic American motorcycles and cars. They demonstrated their passion for American classics in 2019 in the form of a production version of the Corvette SS Dolphin-inspired car - Songsan SS Dolphin. Since the company does not have a license to manufacture cars in China, the production was outsourced to BYD and therefore the car must have the BYD logo. The Songsan SS Dolphin technique is also based on BYD solutions. This is a PHEV with 1.5T ICE motor, 118 kW and 110 kW electric motor. 16 kWh of battery is enough for about 100 km of electric range. The total power is 235 kW (315 hp) which gives 5.9 seconds to 100 km / h. 6-speed manual transmission.
The car has quite large dimensions: 4855/1900/1431 mm

Price 700,000 yuan ($97,000).

Does it have a chance to win the hearts of Americans?

I didn't know about the SS, but I really like the side lines and the interior design which mixes modernity with classic elements. However, I'm not completely sold on the front. I don't think it will be able to compete with Tesla and Ford in America, as they have a huge advantage and their vehicles seem to be more popular with Americans.
Greetings from the Caribbean!🇨🇺

This car is a game of sentiment and a return to the American legend. That's why I think a lot of rich Americans might be tempted by such a car. Not for practical reasons, but sentimental ones. It's like "New Beetle" only in the American edition.
Greetings from Poland :)

I see this car as more of a Mediterranean coast road trip vehicle, something you'd see in a James Bond movie, maybe.
It's got that kind of vibe 😅
