Gestern trafen wir uns zu Halloween in einer neuen Location, MIKES bei der der U6 Burggasse (Urban-Loritz-Platz) in Wien. Das Lokal war gemütlich und ansprechend, nicht so voll/laut wie befürchtet.

Habe die Gelegenheit genutzt und bin als Guy Fawkes zum Meetup gegangen, war witzig, vergesst den 5. November nicht, Wahlen in den USA 😂

Es war uns auch eine Freude zwei neue Gesichter beim Stammtisch begrüßen zu dürfen, @danaandwild und @godfish Hive OG, der extra aus Prag angereist ist.

Haben auch über Hive geplaudert, Snaps, Creators Meetup in Graz (Anfang Mai 2025), 3speak gerade down, und auch das schwierige Thema Downvotes.

Für die Einen sind Downvotes wichtig, für die Balance und um Plagiate und unfaires Verhalten zu bekämpfen, für die Anderen richten sie mehr Schaden als Nutzen an.

Vor Kurzem wurde auch ein Bot-Netzwerk mit 17 Tausend Spam-Accounts aufgedeckt, das unter anderem älteren Content von anderen Usern gestohlen und repostet haben soll. Krass.

Yesterday we met at Halloween in a new location, MIKES near the U6 Burggasse (Urban-Loritz-Platz) in Vienna.

The place was cozy and appealing, not as crowded/loud as feared.

I took the opportunity and went to the meetup as Guy Fawkes, it was funny, don't forget November 5th, election day in the US 😂

It was also a pleasure to welcome two new faces to the meetup, @danaandwild and @godfish Hive OG, who traveled all the way from Prague to Vienna.

We also chatted about Hive, Snaps, Creators Meetup in Graz (beginning of May 2025), 3speak currently down, and also the difficult topic of downvotes.

For some, downvotes are important for balance and to combat plagiarism and unfair behavior, for others they do more harm than good.

Recently, a bot network with 17 thousand spam accounts was uncovered in hive, which is said to have stolen and reposted older content from other users. Insane.
