Bitcoin very much started out this way. Value wasn't found, or rather widespread found until an event had occurred thanks to pizza of all things! But hey why not we all love pizza and food can be of great value and also a metric! So Bitcoin fund it's day in history when it was successfully traded for pizza. So much so that it has become well known and the day is celebrated with bitcoin and pizza by many all over and around the world!
