Tuesday my son discovered what I thought was the wifi card was not what I thought it was. So we have been working on trying to figure out (once again) why it does not always get picked up by the settings (device manager).
Yesterday I removed the battery trying something I found online and that set the time wrong (I think) to the point I made dinner at two o'clock instead of four.
I have been so focused on it today that after what I thought was dinner I went to take a shower and realized I had not done a daily post. That is when I discovered the true time.
Anyway I am now back to working on trying to figure out the reason the desktop won't connect to the internet. I have switched the cable cord connectors as suggested but I am seeing it still does not recognize a network.
My next steps will be to factory reset the pc and check again before switching the cables back. After that I will then attempt another factory reset.
If all that does not work then I guess I have no option than to come to the conclusion the network card is truly dead. This is an old machine and I am not very trusting of sites that sell old tech unless they are official sites like newegg.
I wonder though if those sites still sell old tech.
