Hi there Splinterland fans to another one of my share your battle's.
A few months ago i made a post about the butcher of the Fire splinter, Grum Flameblade. And since then some major changes happened in the Splinterland world. Modern vs Wild choice to battle, the new Riftwatchers pack and more.
As i am slowly building my deck in to Silver league without renting, most of my battles are fought in Bronze, so lets check a few battles if this behemoth can still dominate and be played in the lowest league...
Grumfireblade
Because Grum takes out 11 mana to start with, is it usable? Well, it was one of the first cards to hold the bloodlust ability, meaning all his stats increase by one on every kill he makes, sweet! And with it's shield and Void armor it can be put into battle against practically all other splinters.
What does it cost to have Grum on your team?
Normal Foil (level 1) | Gold Foil (level 2) | |
---|---|---|
Edition | Chaos Legion | |
Rarity | Epic | |
Element | Fire | |
CP | 500 | 12.500 |
Cost | $4.849 | $37.69 |
Rental a day | 5.039 DEC | 16.667 DEC |
Above prices are taken from peakmonsters.com.
Despite it's pretty steep price of $37 bucks for a gold foil, for a mere 16 DEC a day you rent enough power to get you out of Bronze with only Grum, pretty sweet huh?
So let's get into some battles to put Grum to the test. For these battles i tried to line-up Grum with at least the Sorch Fiend, Serpentine Spy, Aganju and Tenyij Striker (if the mana cap would let me)
Grum's favorite attack pack
The Battles
Battle 1
Ruleset | Normal |
Mana Cap | 23 |
Opponent's Splinter | Death |
Line-up |
|
Against Death, 9 times out of 10 your up against the Cursed Windeku as tank with it's pesky thorns. But as you can see, Grum will take him out in 2 rounds, while the attack pack took care of the remaining monsters.
Battle 2
Ruleset | Normal |
Mana Cap | 24 |
Opponent's Splinter | Fire |
Line-up |
|
Even against an similar opponent Grum can be used. Aganju and Sorch Fiend can be used as Opportunity targets, so Tenyij and Serpentine take out the monster. Grum keeps standing and only takes some minor damage.
Battle 3
Ruleset | Normal |
Mana Cap | 18 |
Opponent's Splinter | Water |
Line-up |
|
Grum's only downfall is putting him up against high speed opponents or with a ruleset like toxic fumes. If he doesn't make a kill, he wont get faster, and he hates toxic.
Yay or Nay
I think you should have him on your team, and that he can be of great use even in the Bronze league. If you haven't battled with him, you should definitely give him a try.
