Immortalis is indispensable? - Splinterlands Tactician #55

23rd February 2023.

I moved into Diamond League recently to see if my Gold deck can take on the big boys.

It is a disaster, but that is a topic for another day.

Today's highlight is my level one Immortalis taking on a level 4 Lux Vegas.

The result was surprising.

The Contemplation

The only ruleset here is Wands Out, where only magic monsters are available.

Usually I would be able to build my team within the first minute, but I had a lot of trouble deciding this battle.

It's because I do not have a functioning Earth splinter yet.

Clicking through my other splinters didn't make any sense to me.

The only other option was to bring my level 4 Kelya with Djinn Oshannus.

However, I will most likely lose because of the low-level cards.

My best bet was my level one Immortalis.

The Battle lineups

I hate to bring my Immortalis because it usually means I have ~0% chance of winning.

All my monsters will be too weak to do any damage.

And worse of all, my opponent brought out Lux Vegas with Djinn Oshannus.

To top it off, she has Elven Mystic from the Untamed edition to Silence my team.

No one is going to do any damage to the Djinn Oshannus.

The Battle begins

What I didn't realise is that my team is indestructible too.

The Void provided by Immortalis coupled with Tank Heal survives the onslaught every round.

But I will still lose to fatigue since Djinn Oshannus has the most health, right?

The Hidden Hero

Wait a minute, someone is doing damage in all this chaos.

The new soul-bound reward card Madcap Magus has Scattershot, and can hit the Elven Mystic at the back.

At Round 9, the Elven Mystic went down.

This marks the turning point of the battle.

My Goblin Psychic can now start damaging the Djinn Oshannus, provided he doesn't evade the attack.

It's a ridiculous race against time.

At Round 16, my Madcap Magus ended up with more health than Djinn Oshannus.

The battle still dragged on into fatigue rounds because the Djinn Oshannus evaded so many attacks.

But a level one Immortalis took it down.

Is this a sign that I should get Immortalis?

You can catch the full battle here!

Always fight, never surrender.
