Thank God ItΒ΄s #NinetiesFriday!
I talked about Grilll Power,
I Talked About Sex,
LetΒ΄s Talk about Girls for a change.
Because my nineties were filled with girls, I was always on the prowl, and I got lucky quite frequently...must have been all that sex in the 90s I talked about last week:
My Girl(s)
I love that [My Girl song...but as itΒ΄s not nineties, but the movie is so Nineties!
The worst part is that I remember occasions or faces, but most of the names left my mind years ago. Sometimes something happens that makes them come back out of the blue.
Those that I do remember often made a more lasting impression for a reason.
My first squirt, my first living together, my first real love. Things like that do help to not forget about a girl.
But from all those names and faces there are three that worked their way into my heart. Two of them surely know but I am not sure about number three.
Bella Bionda
And no she was not blond but she was Bella.
I was 16 and Bionda was 13 and her parents allowed me to sleep over on the weekend....better safe than sorry I guess. We both could not wait for those nights together.
I really canΒ΄t remember why we broke up, it must have been something childish, but I still wonder where she is and what happened to her as we never met again after breaking up.
It was really early nineties I guess somewhere in 1991. She was so cute, we had a great time but damn why can I not recall what happened. And where did you go????
My First Latina
In the nineties, you had My First Sony and I had My First Latina.
No, it was not Maria, but close it was Claudia and she was not only my first Latina, but the first girl I ever fell crazy in love with: And yes I know why it ended, and even know where she lives today.
Because she lives to the third and last nineties girl I will never forget.
My Mel
Melanie was the one that got away, the one I screwed by screwing another girl that only wanted me because I was the resident DJ in her favorite club.
Yup F ed that one up.
I tried to glue those pieces back together and learned a valuable life lesson. Once trust is broken, it will never fully heal, it will never be the same again Mel.
Okay enough about me let's talk about my other female loves, my musical ones.
Or did you think my love for female vocalists only happened after grunge died?
The Ladies Of The 90s
Not gonna do the chrono thingy I just play them in the order they float to the surface of my melted brain.
1992 when I met Tori and she caused Little Earthquakes
Probably, no certainly top 3 best ever album material in my book, and now I am making myself pick only one song;
1998 Alanis, while everyone loved her Jagged Little Pills I got hooked on her but prefer to talk about her Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie days
To All The Girls I Loved Before, I have one question left:
1993 Wendy, you all know her as the Blond Vamp that didnΒ΄t want you money but your love in the 80s but my favorite album was Now Ain't the Time for Your Tears (1993)
The Album was written by Elvis Costello and damn those songs are so quirky, simply brilliant I love it and I loved Wendy.
1997 I met Sarah and she was a classic beauty, Timeless (Also known as Time to Say Goodbye) one might say.
What comes closer to Epic than this (You are not allowed to say Meatloaf)?
Those were probably my favorite 90s ladies, at least those who made a whole album that stole my heart. And of course a few have slipped my mind, but we will meet again one day.
The one That Got Away
And just like Melanie, there was one that got away!
There was this Naked album by Scarlet in 1995.
You probably do not remember these two very fine British girls
But I do.
Making A Long Post Longer
It all started with that song, and another nineties girlfriend. For whatever reason she owned that CD single.
Yes, we bought CD singles because we simply did not have the cash to buy a whole album and Spotify was not yet invented.
Now I loved that single, maybe even more than the girl looking back. But the thing I loved most was the B side. For those that were born after the B Side area go and Google it.
That B side was wonderful I thought.
Then I forgot all about it.
For years until I bought the whole Naked Album.
Loved it!
But where was that B side song?
What was the name of that B side song?
I never found that B side song.
Many years later I asked the girl who owned the CD what the name of the song was, she thought it was called The Fall.
But Google it, I will reward you if you find it because I sure did not!
This was the closest I got:
I hate to give up
Inspired by previous and while planning this 90s post I found Discogs, I found the CD for 50 cents....
I felt like I was In da Club until I saw the shipping fees ... β¬4.90 but still it's probably cheaper than when it was a hit in 1995.
I doubted for a day.
I took the risk.
I waited a week.
I waited two weeks and my doubts grew.
Till that day the Postman came:
By the way, does anyone remember that horrible '90s Postman song? That whining wimpy piece of poo you never ever again want to listen to? Please kids donΒ΄t listen to this:
Unboxing
A very original way of protecting the case:
But in the end, nothing really matters...but the song:
I said the song, the B-side song I have not heard in 25 years:
Oh darn, that is not a mp4 picture so you have no clue how it sounds. Well ehh who still has a laptop with a CD player so I can rip it for you and mail you the MP3?
Oh, wait, Me. My old work laptop must have a CD player as it's almost as old as the song itself.
So now I ripped the song... but if I have been looking for this for 20 years...maybe just maybe someone else has been too?
So just in case, and not sure for how long I MP4Β΄ed it for the world:
And of course a little thank you note:
This Nineties Trip down lost memories lane is starting to be costly. And I guess now you have one question left, was it what I expected it to be?
To be fair, I had no clue what the song sounded like. I did not even remember the title, all I knew was that I liked it back in the day.
But as with all good memories, they get more beautiful over times.
The song was fine and I guess back then it was definitely special because without YouTube, Soundcloud, and Spotify my access to great songs was limited. And that Piano intro is kind of my thing still.
Was it worth the wait?
Yes, simply because of the memory. Because I kept thinking why, why do I remember that song, why can I not find it on this wonderful world wide web?
Finally, I heard it, and remembered what I liked about it....but just like many things from the past.... they look better from a distance and should stay in the past.
Thank goodness you made it till the end Pees, Love and I am out of here!

WTF do I do on #NinetiesFriday?
Well, don't do what I do because I just stole the below as it is good enough for copy/pasta!
But some ideas are music, movies, television, sports, or really anything Nineties related.
I assume movie, tv, or music topic reviews or talk will be most common, but you could also talk about a sports memory or something else.
Think the Pop Culture of the times, but it would be great to hear about little known and interesting bands or entertainment items. Donβt forget to use tag #NinetiesFriday
@geneeverett will give 3 basic income units to a winning random post every week that uses the #NinetiesFriday tag. Also @thebighigg has jumped in to match for 6 total weekly prizes! If anyone else wants to sponsor with 1 unit let me know or just send if you donβt wanna commit to weekly π
