Monumento Nacional a la Bandera Argentina en Rosario - National Monument to the Argentine Flag in Rosario (Messi's Hometown)

Hello friends of Pinmapple, today I wanted to talk to you about the place where I live.
Rosario is the third most populous city in Argentina, located in the province of Santa Fé. It is an important cultural, economic, educational, financial and entertainment center. It should be noted that it has the largest population of Italian immigrants in the world (things that one learns after two years of living here)

It is located on the banks of the Paraná River, despite having more than 17 km of coastline, only about 4 km are for public use and domain. The rest is privatized or is part of the docks, marinas, companies, customs, among others (data that you discover little by little when reading the news or talking to people)

The monument is one of my favorite places in the city, if you go up to the viewpoint you can see miles and miles of both the urban area, the river, the islands and the wetlands.

The city is part of a region of great importance for Argentina, producing at the time the highest GDP per capita in the nation, at this time it is among the top three.

It is known as the Cradle of the Argentine Flag because it was the place where the national flag was raised for the first time.

Besides, Rosario is the hometown of renowned figures such as Leonel Messi, Angel Di María and Ernesto el Che Guevara among others.

Living here has its advantages, the weather is almost always perfect, the temperature is pleasant (except in the summer you feel like you are cooking alive) in the winter it rains little and the cold is tolerable. People are super friendly. One of the things that impressed me is that almost everyone has a dog, a cat or a pet. They are not afraid to protest and raise their voices for their rights, if you go to the center near the public buildings or the monument, it is common to find some protest.

Among the good things, they also have countless places to try the Argentine food that I love, the bills, empanadas, pizzas, roasts, pasta, in short, in 2020 I will gain 10 kilos (consequences of the pandemic)

Relics of War, with a view of Barrio Martín (where I live) those cannons were embodied in defending the city at the time of the war of independence. If you walk near the coast you get them at different strategic points, always pointing towards the river.

Sort:

I don't often see images or any sort of portrayal of Argentina and its iconic "imagery" except for, as you mentioned, the footballers! I remember being curious one day and just jumping on google maps just to see what the country looked like. This was quite refreshing and I was very happy to see the architecture as well as some images of the square.
