Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. Today is the first weekend in the month of August, how are you spending yours? Trust it has been an eventful day so far? It is important to always create fun activities for yourself no matter how little it may be. And to the guys in the building, the lovers of football, the Premier League is finally back, so there is no more boredom during the weekends. I'm looking forward to my teams first match of the season tomorrow and hopefully we secure the three points. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

We all have different ways of unwinding during the weekend after a long week of work. There are some people, like me, who love to do a solo unwinding. I do not really like to go out so I ensure that I create my fun moments in my house. I'm a lover of video games, so I can do that for a couple of hours, then watch some football matches and before you know it the whole day is far spent. In the last one month or thereabouts when there was no club football, it was very boring to the bone marrow but thankfully we are back and there have been a couple of interesting matches so far with some surprising scorelines.
There are some other people's whose weekend isn't complete without attending one event or the other. These may include weddings, birthdays, burials, picnics and get-togethers. In Nigeria, Saturdays especially is known for Owanbe. On a typical Saturday in every nooks and crannies of this country you'd see people in matching outfits (that is, the same color, and pattern) usually called aso-ebi going to parties. There are some who do not wear matching outfits too, depending on your closeness with the host or probably your financial status too. Some people just want to catch fun by being in an environment with other people dancing, dining and wining. The atmosphere of Owanbe is a big turn on for some people and they would not dare miss it for any reason.

If you are a very busy person who rarely have breathing space during the week, sleeping may be your best form of unwinding during the weekend. There are some people who find it hard to see enough time to rest due to the nature of their job, so they would not take any opportunity to close their eyes and relax for granted. For instance, (some) people that work in banks fall into this category. I have a friend who use to work in the bank who resumes work as early as 7am (he holds the key to the office) and closes work within the hours of 5.30pm to 6.30pm. He will be the first to resume and the last to close because he has to open and close the doors. So, he doesn't joke with resting well during his weekends. In other words, that is his best way of unwinding and catching fun.

It is a good thing to always find time to relax and catch fun in your own way. You only live once, so you must ensure that you create time for maximum fun, doing what you know how to do best. We all have different preferences, so you should know what works best for you. Your definition of fun is different from mine and mine may entirely look weird to you. Just find what suits you best and do it. There is still some few hours left this weekend to catch up and do something interesting that will make you happy. Visit that friend you have been postponing your visit to. Buy that favorite food or drink you crave for. Watch that series you have been looking forward to read. Just be happy and enjoy your weekend.
