I know I normally say “Hello dear Hivers”. But for today it’s Hello to all my fellow cartoon lovers!
I assume you are a fan of cartoon movies or series (adult category of course) that’s why you’re still reading.
On my Episode 4 of movies and tv shows recommendations, i bring you top 5 binge worthy cartoon series you won’t regret watching.
- American dad
- F is for Family
- Big mouth
- Family guy
- Human Resources
In a descending order:
- American Dad.
source
A Fox original cartoon sitcom. Created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman.
Like the name implies, it’s a series based off of a typical American dad. It summarizes a man that works as a secret agent in the CIA and also as a dad to a family of four.
They own an Alien and a fish, pretty normal right?
I love how the writers portrayed the family.
An annoying dad Stan Smith, a not so bright mum Francine Smith, a stoner girl child Hayley Smith with her rogue husband Jeff Fischer and a nerd boy child Steve Smith
Of course the Alien - Roger everyone’s favorite character and Klaus the talking fish with the mind of a German ice skater.
It’s a funny story how a CIA agent habour a wanted alien that takes so much risks but has never been caught.
I believe the alien is the bond of the family, he possesses a lot of personalities that is a friend to each family member. He’s dramatic, sassy, freaky, funny and a daredevil. The only thing I can’t figure out about him is his sexuality. Haha.
While this could be a family show, there are some episodes that might be a bit offensive to religion and the likes. Asides that I love every part of this series and I ended up watching every season more than once.
- F is for Family.
source
A Netflix series created by comic Bill Burr and Michael Price.
This one I find usual!
It’s about a family of six living on minimum wage in the 1970s. The father Frank Murphy (an aspiring pilot but failed because his wife got pregnant and he had to choose between his career or his kid) is always frustrated, if it’s not a problem with the airline he works at (now as a baggage manager) it’ll be the kids at home.
The Mother Sue Murphy, as a result of throwing away her career because of her pregnancy she got cut off by her parents and settles as a house wife selling plastics.
The children, two boys, a girl and one new born child.
The boys are both rogue and that rubs off on the girl.
I can’t count how many times the dad cusses the children and threaten to “put them through that fucking wall.”
I love how the writers kept everything normal and ordinary.
PS: Forget the name, this show is not rated for family. Trust me there are some spicy scenes ;)
- Big Mouth.
source
A Netflix series created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett.
This one is a personal favorite.
It’s about how a group of high school teenagers consisting Nick, Andrew, Jessi, Lola, Devin and their classmates as they live their teenage life and struggle with puberty.
It shows how they deal with hormones, depression, anxiety, shame, love and so on.
The best part is each of these attributes to puberty comes to life as hormone monsters and monstress, depression Kitty, anxiety mosquito, shame wizard, love bug etc and cope with them physically.
Definitely binge worthy and amusing to watch plus it’s portrays a fun way to know your body.
There is absolutely nothing to hate in this series and it’s pretty relatable also!
- Family Guy.
source
A classic goated fox cartoon series created by Seth MarcFarlane.
It’s basically about a family guy Peter Griffen and his disastrous choices.
His family - a house wife Lois Griffen, two teenagers Meg and Chris Griffen, a conniving baby Stewie Griffen and their talking Dog Brian are sick of his choices but they are used to it now and they love him regardless.
If there is no vulgar words or offensive notions then it is not a fox classic haha. This show has been canceled so many times but they always somehow come back.
Asides that I definitely love this show and highly recommend to those with a great sense of humor!
- Human Resources.
source
A Netflix subseries generated from Big Mouth. Created by Nick Kroll, Jennifer Flackett, Andrew Goldber, Kelly Galuska and Mark Levin.
This show is my top favorite.
It’s not about family or kids, it’s about Human resources Monsters!
It’s a spin off from Big Mouth, this time they take us to the headquarter workplace of these creatures and how they deal with the needs of their assigned adult human.
Depression kitties, hormone monsters and monstress, anxiety mosquitoes, love bugs, hate worm, shame wizards, Logic Rock, ambition gremlin, addiction angel, and many more.
I love everything about this show and it’s so fun to watch!
If you need a short sitcom, this is the one for you. Although I hope more seasons are released soon.
That concludes my recommendation list.
I hope you enjoy these sitcoms as much as I do.
If you’d also like more cartoon suggestions comment “😎”.
