Boredom is the feeling you have when you are bored, or the quality of being boring. The feeling of boredom is common to every individual, however, you have control over the level of your boredom. You can reduce being bored by practicing positive vibes towards yourself aka self love. It is widely believed that you will be less prone to boredom if you love yourself and everything that has to do with yourself. Boredom is in the DNA of every human but have you noticed some people in your clique never get bored no matter how boring the situation seem to be. Or better put, they do not allow the boring situation bore them. Hmm! It is simply because they prioritise their happiness.
Let's briefly take a look at some causes of boredom. Boredom may be caused when a person is feeling lonely due to not socialising with other people. Do you know some people get bored at social events? Do you know there may be a line-up of A-list atrists at a concert and some people will still be filled with boredom? Boredom can be necessitated through negative past experiences or mindset which make them intentionally detach themselves from others.
I have a friend who rushes back to her house after work everyday just to lock herself up in her room and do whatever she does. She never give room of socialising with people after the close of business. Even when picnics or outings are organized by friends she doesn't attend. On the flip side, she complains about boredom on a status on social media. The truth is that anyone who is living an isolated life, who doesn't have anyone to speak to when needed will experience all boredom have to offer. This is a self-inflicted torture that results from not loving oneself. Do you love yourself?

Furthermore, the reason some people detach themselves from the company of friends, colleagues, families or even strangers is due to low self-esteem. People that have the belief that they are not up to the standard of others either in their appearance, social status, or financial status can 'hide their face' when they are in a gathering. This may make them vow to stay away from people as much as possible or stay mute when they manage to appear. In short, they are not always active in places where people catch fun but prefer to lock themselves up in the four corners of their room.
Boredom can be very detrimental to one's health. From my personal experience, there are times when im bored that i start to feel restless or even develop slight headache. This is mostly on days when i take a break from work or weekends that i just decided to stay indoor to rest. After about 4-5 hours of watching movies, sleeping and waking up, i would start getting tired of staying indoor. Boredom will start creeping in but i quickly control it by taking a walk out of the house to get some fresh air; along the way i may see one or two people to talk to, then return back to the house.

If you find out that you're always bored or you have friends, family members or colleagues that are always complaining of chronic boredom, you can advise them to learn how to love themselves. Encourage them to see themselves in a positive way and not a negative way that will blur their vision to a better lifestyle. Urge them to improve their self-esteem by developing a healthy lifestyle towards themselves and most especially people around them.
