I am obsessed with Panda, and rightly so because she's my first dog baby. I cannot help but notice how much she's grown and gotten wiser in the last months. About 80% of everything I struggled with Panda initially is of no worry to me currently. She clocks 10 months in a few days and boyyy is she a big girl now.
She used to enter my room and even my bed before but we trained her to the extent that she never enters anymore. Well, not like never ever, sometimes she doesn't see me for hours and she gets too excited and can't hold herself. In such times, she either runs in with full force or she sneakily tries to enter.
It didn't even take long for her to know her limits around the house. It all falls back to what we allow and don't allow. The very first day we got her, we never let her into the kitchen and that's one place she keeps away from. Again, Panda can be sneaky and I think she enjoys walking on tiptoes into restricted areas just for the fun of it. Otherwise, she wouldn't normally enter the bedroom and kitchen.
One habit she picked up that I loved so much is her scratching the door whenever she wants to go out to pee or play. It was so cute and it marked the end of her peeing or pooing indoors. It was cute until it became a command.
These days, she wants to go out mostly to bark at people outside and she practically hits the door. I don't know how she learned to knock and hit the door so hard. She even looks mad when no one answers her call.
When she's tired of being outside, she knocks, scratches the door and cries or barks to come back in. She easily opens partially closed doors and I look forward to her actually using the door knob herself someday.
I don't necessarily worry about my neighbours moving their cars when she's outside. She always runs to the front door or to the backyard when she sees any one of them going into their car. She keeps clear and waits until they're completely out of sight with their cars before going out to play again.
Panda thinks she can outsmart the humans because every night, she hides behind the curtain or under the desk so we can 'forget' her instead of putting her in her house to sleep. It's always cute the way she does that and tries to not enter her house.
One more thing that impresses me about Panda is how she drags her empty water bowl to meet whoever is close by to indicate that she wants to drink water. It's really interesting the little ways we're able to communicate.
She is one clingy dog as she's made herself my +1 and literally follows me every step I take. I have gotten used to it as the only time I'm ever free from her touch is when I lock myself in the bedroom.
She's so attached that she gets sad when we're not around or either one of us is not around. She cries and sulks until she sees the other person and can have them within reach once again. It often makes me wonder if she has separation anxiety. I hope not.
Panda really is a smart and funny dog, she acts like a human baby sometimes and I don't mind her neediness. I enjoy taking care of this cutie.
