It's my off day today and I have to say, this is the most relaxed I have felt on a work-free day. It's not like I haven't been doing anything all day, I've done a number of chores and I still have some cooking to do later on, but I don't feel overwhelmed or drained. It's more about being calm and not burdened by thoughts.
On other days, I am usually overwhelmed by how much I have to do around the house or catch up with my personal development. A day meant for relaxing becomes chaotic and I stress more than I would if I was busy with work. I overthink a lot of things and get worked up over how much I'm not doing.
I don't know why it's different today but there's an unusual calm, I don't feel pressured or bothered by what I think I should be doing. I didn't set a timeline for my routine today and I'm just moving at whatever pace my body decides to go with.
Normally, my mind would scream at me for not being fast enough with my chores so I can get some me-time with a movie or something.
"You need to relax, you're missing out on all this relax time and before you know it, the day would be over!
I'm relaxing now and will go back to what I was doing later, I really am not going to be bothered today.
Another thing I find calming today is the sweet smell of my Arabian perfume, Yara by Lattafa. I just received the package, immediately unboxed it and took a sniff. My goodness, I love it!
It's my first time trying out Arabian perfumes and I can't believe how good and non-oud-y this is. Actually, it's my first time buying perfume for myself in a long time because they mostly give me nausea and a headache. But this, this isn't irritating me at all.
It's a feminine scent that smells like candy, a bit fruity and rosy too. I like how mild it is, it kinda smells like baby powder but it's more mature than childish. I'd never have picked a feminine perfume in the past but I'm in my girly element this year so I thought I'd try something new. Girl, am I pleased!
I also got Intense Peach by Fragrance World which is meant to be a dupe for Tom Ford Bitter Peach. Although I don't know what the Tom Ford one smells like, I have a strong feeling this isn't a good dupe. At first spray, I was irritated, but the dry down isn't so bad. It is quite peachy alright, but I can't shake off this smell of old urine I'm getting from it.
I think it will layer well with the Yara so it's not a wasteful buy after all. They're inexpensive so I'm sure I can keep blind-buying until I find the combo I really love. If you have a sensitive nose like myself and want to try feminine scents, I suggest you start with body mists like I did. My nose adjusted to the fruity scents of mine, reason why this new scent wasn't overwhelming.
Do have a pleasant day! 😊
