Illumination.

Spark of life
In a glass confined.
Radiating warmth
To humankind.
From dawn to dusk
Till nights embrace
A beacon shining in time and space

Illuminated whispers, in the night
A gentle glow that chases fright
The bulb's soft heartbeat, pulsing slow
A reassuring rhythm as the darkness goes.

It has been quite some time since I last wrote a poem and unlike every other poem I've written in the past, the inspiration for today's poem wasn't an emotion, a feeling or an experience; it an object. An object that looked a bit old but still admirable.

This week has been an unexpectedly busy one for me. I've been to different places for various reasons and one of such reasons is house hunting. One of my house hunt sojourns this week led me to a house. An astonishing one if I may add.

A simple apartment with a minimalistic interior decor, white painting, a finely polished wardrobe and an eye-catching lighting fixture. The rest of the apartment looked impeccable but I couldn't get my eyes off this lighting fixture.

As such, the above poem was inspired by a lighting fixture and how well it captured my attention. The interesting part is that the light bulb wasn't even turned on, yet, I was that mesmerized. Too bad the apartment wasn't in a favourable location, this lighting fixture would have been my very favourite fixture.
