Helen was a very outgoing child. She was always giggling. Her beautiful yellow curly hair made her very beautiful. She was the daughter of my dear friend and colleague Geraldo, an orthopedic doctor just like me. We studied together in college and even did our post graduate studies together. Helen was a very empathetic child who called me uncle. When she was 6 years old she started to have fever and her father started to worry.
All of her colleagues stepped in to help with Helen's diagnosis. She started to turn pale, lots of petechiae and bruises on her skin, and her voice sounded strange. She was hospitalized for a series of lab tests and special examinations.
Every time Helen spoke she was muffled, not that smiling, cheerful child with a high-pitched voice. Her mother was crying and clinging to God for her daughter's recovery. Thomas her brother was saying to her mother:-and his voice sounded strange. What is happening to Helen's mother. She is very strange with this disease.
Finally they found the diagnosis of Helen's illness. The hematologist gathered her parents together to give them the news that the girl was suffering from thrombocytopenic purpura where her platelet values were very low. Once the diagnosis was made, the hematologist indicated treatment and Helen recovered satisfactorily. Today she is studying medicine and is an excellent student.

Helen era una niña muy extrovertida. Siempre anda risueña. Su bello cabello color amarillo en forma de rizos la hacían muy bella. Ella era la hija de mi querido y amigo colega Geraldo un médico traumatologo al igual que yo. Estudiamos juntos en la universidad incluso hicimos el post grado juntos. Helen era una niña con mucha empatia me llamaba tío. A partir de los 6 años empezó a tener fiebre y su padre empezó a preocuparse.
todos sus colegas nos pusimos a su disposición para ayudar con el diagnóstico de Helen. Empezó a palidecer, muchas petequias y moretones en su piel, y su voz sonaba extraña. Fue hospitalizada para realizarle una serie de pruebas de laboratorio y exámenes especiales.
cada vez que Helen hablaba estaba apagadita no era aquella niña sonriente y alegre con un tono de voz alto. Su madre lloraba y pegada de Dios para la recuperación de su hija. Tomás su hermano le decía a su mamá:-y su voz sonaba extraña. Que le esta pasando a Helen mamá. Esta muy rara con esa enfermedad.
Por fin dieron con el diagnostico de la enfermedad de Helen. El hematólogo reunió a sus padres para darle la noticia que la niña sufría de púrpura trombocitopénica donde los valores de las plaquetas estaban muy bajos. Una vez obtenido el diagnóstico el hematólogo indico tratamiento y Helen se recuperó satisfactoriamente. Hoy en día estudia medicina y es una excelente estudiante.
