Last Sunday, I got a knock on my door. I opened it, and my aunt appeared. She said I should dress up, and her sister (my other aunt) will come to pick us up because we will travel where our car takes us. I wasn't supposed to go, but I checked the date on my phone, and it was a familiar date. Then I remembered that it was Father's Day. So I decided to come with them.
Luckily, there are just nine people who will go. My aunt's family, my Tita, Auncle, and his son, Lolo, Lola, and me. Auncle Engr. and his family will have other plans, and they will go to Baguio.
While we are traveling, the adults are deciding where we will go. Uhm, I am one of those adults too, but I also don't know where we will go as I don't travel that much, so I will just trust their decision. Our grandma is the one who invites our aunts to travel, but our aunts don't know where.
While the adults are busy talking, Maritess, and joking around while traveling, here I am at the back, spending my precious time with food. I'm the type of person who, when there are travel trips like this and far away, gets bored easily, so food is life to entertain myself.
They have already decided where we are going. And finally, after an hour of sitting, we arrived at our destination.
Our Family decided to celebrate Father's Day at Bolasi Beach, San Fabian, Pangasinan.
We arrived at 10:44 A.M., the beach is not that boring for me. I mean, yeah, I can feel a little vibe that makes me feel bored because I don't see any special. But, maybe, because I am grown up now, I'm not a child anymore to whine and feel bored in this kind of places with family. What I mean is, when I was a kid, I was easy to get bored and not comfortable when we go to the beaches with fam. But now, I already feel what the grown ups feels before that an occasion and trip like this are just a normal feeling. We don't feel excitement, but we still have fun, chill, and just let the time lead what will happen. Time just flies easily. When we go to trip like this, a hour will just became a minute.
Of course, on occasions like this, I am also one of the people who takes pictures. So they can have photos to upload on their social media. Even if it's hot, I'm fine with taking a picture as long as I have my sunblock! Period. I'm afraid to be toasted under the sun.
I said I wouldn't go out and soak under the sun because the sun hurts my skin, but here I am taking pictures with my cousin.
After we walked around and took pictures, we decided to go back to cottage. We caught up with them grilling seafood that we were going to eat.
Apart from this, we had some other food that they prepared, but we forgot to take a picture, and we proceeded to eat lunch. I forgot to take a picture of the grilled pork and the chopped lechon pig that they brought. What's funny is that the most delicious food is the one without a picture. Lol
After I ate, I looked around, and I saw that there were already a lot of people taking a bath at the beach on the other side. I looked at my cousins preparing to swim too, and they were inviting me, but I told them to go on without me because I'm resting my belly from eating a lot.
While we were at the cottage, my uncle noticed the people riding banana boats. He told us that we should also ride one too. I turned to my back and looked at them, and they were very serious about talking about it. I think they will really go! Then my aunt asked me if I would also ride with them, and I told them "no" without hesitation. JESUS CHRIST! You can't get me on board like that, I say. I am scared—I have a fear of going on the part where there's dark and deep water. They told me that we would not go there, and there's a life vest, so I don't need to worry just in case I fall. What makes me convinced of going is experiencing it firsthand and facing my fear, so in the end, I decided to go.
Maybe I look happy here, but would you like to see what I actually look like? What happened next? 😭😂
In our first round of riding the banana boat, I was okay; I wasn't that scared because the water wasn't deep and it wasn't black yet. But of course I'm still afraid of falling; that's why I'm clinging to the rope in front of me. Then on the second round, that's when I started to feel nervous because the boat that was moving our banana boat turned and then headed straight for the deepest part of the sea.
My families are laughing at me because I'm calling the saints by any name and telling the older brothers who are driving and videoing in front, "Just take me back to the cottage!"
What's worse is when we stop in the middle of something in the sea and the color of the water is not as black as in the middle of the sea; it looks like dark blue in person, but for me, it's scary to look at because I tried to take a peek when we stopped just so we can take pictures.
My younger cousins decided to jump, and the time was so fast when the worst thing happened that I didn't want it to happen. They pulled me to jump, and I thought when I was already in the water I was going to drown. So my uncle pulled me up. What's also worse is when they laugh at my reaction. They thought I was enjoying it, but hell no. All I thought during that time was that some unknown creatures would pull my feet.
It's a good thing that we just stopped there for a short time and they decided to go back, and the one who's guiding us helped me go up on the banana boat.
Dang! While writing this, I can still feel on my feet the feeling I felt while I was in the water at that time, and the thought of something pulling me down makes me cringe with fear. Never again!
When we go back to our cottage, I decide to take a bath and change. I act like nothing happened, but that thing that happened will be on my mind forever during Father's Day. Well, I still consider that a good experience because I was brave enough to face one of those things that I was afraid of.
OUR SECOND DESTINATION: PICKNIC AT ECO PARK, AGOO, LA UNION.
The adults decided to go to our next destination that day, and that would be in Agoo Eco Park, which was located at Sta. Rita Agoo, La Union. Actually, this place is not that new anymore. It became famous in all La Union and Pangasinan peps after COVID 19. But as someone like me who didn't go out and was not traveling and following the trend, it was my first time going there.
We are supposed to do a short picknic until night here, but the weather became bad and started to rain.
Opps! Postponed. Haha, so we decided to go back here yesterday. But of course, this would be the end of my weekend experience blog.
And this is how we celebrated Father's Day last weekend! Thanks for your time reading!
