The sunflower is a fascinating flower! I think it's one of the most beautiful. But, in reality, it's not just a single flower, did you know that?
What we see is an inflorescence made up of many small flowers, called ligulate and tubular flowers. The yellow petals that charm everyone are actually ligulate flowers, while the center, filled with dark spots, is made up of tubular flowers. This complex structure allows the sunflower to attract pollinators and multiply, showing how nature organizes itself in an amazing way to ensure its survival.
If you get reeeally close to a sunflower, you can see the tiny tubular flowers right in the center. It's so beautiful.
I promise that in the future, I'll take some macro photos of a sunflower to show this here on Hive too!

O girassol é uma flor fascinante! Eu acho uma das mais bonitas. Mas, na verdade, não é apenas uma flor única, sabia?
O que vemos é uma inflorescência composta por muitas flores pequenas, chamadas flores liguladas e tubulares. As pétalas amarelas que encantam a todos são, na verdade, flores liguladas, enquanto o centro, cheio de pontos escuros, é formado pelas flores tubulares. Essa estrutura complexa permite que o girassol atraia polinizadores e se multiplique, mostrando como a natureza se organiza de maneira incrível para garantir a sua sobrevivência.
Se você chegar beeeeeeem pertinho de um girassol, é possível ver as microflores tubulares bem ao centro. É lindíssimo.
Prometo que num futuro vou fazer umas macro fotografias de um girassol para mostrar isso aqui na Hive também!
