Good morning, #Monomad friends
Today I'm going to share with you a glimpse of one of the most elegant sports facilities in the Lisbon area.
Although I'm a fan of Sporting Clube de Portugal's rival club, that doesn't mean I can't appreciate its beauty and architectural highlights.
Well known to other fans of one of Portugal's biggest sports clubs, also known as the José de Alvalade Stadium, this important architectural landmark stands out among the surrounding buildings that can't compete with it when it comes to the originality of the layout and materials used.
The mixture of shapes used on its exterior, as well as the different materials, mean that modernity and tradition are presented in a sui generis way.
The main exterior structure, consisting of two large sigmoid curves, in a large "S" shape, made of concrete, were designed and idealized to create a challenging visual effect.
Its exterior façade is also characterized by a large number of windows and openings, which cover a large part of its surface, clearly in keeping with European traditionalism.
The windows, covered with glass and mirrors, give a unique touch of modernism and luminosity to those who pass by outside and to those inside the rooms, inviting them to open up.
I hope you enjoyed my post here in the B&W community
