Hi hive! Triz here, how are you tonight?
I have done some juggling to be here, but I managed to do it! I'm here again, the Internet has been really crazy and unstable, supposedly the technician is coming soon to check what could be happening.
Today I want to show you one of the pieces from my portfolio last year, in this and in some other pieces I wanted to emulate a bit how a traditional painting would be, I used several brushes that I quite liked and in the end I was messing around with some of the PS options and got that result. Last year I was very melancholic I think! I made many pieces of sadness.
Come with me! I will show you a little how the process was.
~ 1️⃣ The idea ~
Has it ever happened to you that you see things in places, objects and others? but it's only for a moment then you see that again and it's gone! If you pay attention to it, it becomes something. Well, in my case I had the idea of this drawing when I was taking a shower on one of the walls I saw something, then when I could have a pencil and a notebook at hand I made this little sketch.
~ 2️⃣ The change ~
At first the idea I had was fine but later I wanted to make it more complete, which caused me to make a portrait, nothing so neat just brushstrokes from one side to the other to get some texture.
~ 3️⃣ Taking shape? ~
When I saw this on the wall I had a pretty clear idea and I made the sketch with that in mind, but when I was doing the drawing some time later it wasn't like that anymore, there was something that didn't work for me. At this point are the beginnings of those stripes that covered the face that I had imagined.
~ 4️⃣ Some freedom! ~
While I was advancing when I brushed it and adjusting some parameters that PS has, I had never used the `mixer brush tool, I liked having used it at that time since I got a texture that I wanted for a long time, it was very fun and I liked it.
~ 5️⃣ Adding textures ~
After I was satisfied with the result, I added some textures and changed the tones a bit, I was looking for something older to accompany the idea, one of the textures I used is one from a very, very old book, for that got that yellowish color and some stains or some rips.
~ 6️⃣ Little details ~
Supposedly the previous step was the final image, but after seeing it a few days later I wanted to make some changes since I wanted the face to be more realistic, I only detailed a few more features and added small details.
Final Result
The road traveled in life sometimes leaves us some wounds. Despite that we can heal and leave it in the past as a lesson.
