It appears that the Trump faction will continue to dominate the Republican Party for the foreseeable future.
I find this development disturbing because Trump and his followers have abysmal record in public debate and in passing legislation that provides long term solutions for the day.
Sadly, Trump and many of his followers were banned from Twitter. Trump Media and Technology TMTG created an alternative platform with the oxymoronic name TruthSocial.
Sorry TMTG: Even though you might feel that your opinions are closer to the truth than your opposition. Truth does not come from the mind of man nor does it come from social media.
I've examined TruthSocial. It appears to be little more than an echo chamber and marketing channel for right wing pundits.
There are some accounts that discuss election strategy. Sadly, the platform appears bereft of substantive conversation.
My guess is that most of the members of TruthSocial identify with the term "Conservative." Many of the readers consider "liberals" to be the source of all the ills of the modern world.
The amusing thing about this situation is that very few conservatives have studied western history in detail and know the roots of their ideology.
I thought about writing some articles aimed at TruthSocial to explore the history of conservatism.
I really don't think that such essays would go over well as I suspect that anyone speaking historical truths on TruthSocial would be perceived as a troll. I am not all that keen on trolling.
I doubt that a social media platform based on an oxymoron will succeed.
However, a very interesting thing has happened. Elon Musk bought Twitter. He walked into the headquarters carrying a sink and fired some of the chief censors on the Twitter platform.
Musk says that he wants to restore free speech on the platform.
I don't have a spare sink hanging around. But I know of an unused toilet in a utility shed that I could photograph.
A picture of a disgusting toilet does a better job of expressing what I feel about both Twitter and TruthSocial. Notice how the toilet is too close to the wall to be used properly.
A Twitter Search on David DePape
Sadly, a deranged individual named David DePape attacked the Pelosi residence in San Francisco this morning. The intruder assaulted Paul Pelosi with a hammer while demanding to know the location of Nancy.
Since Twitter is supposed to be an example of "citizen journalism" at its finest, I decided to do a search on the name of the attacker. I did my first search shortly after the police released the victim's name.
Immediately after the release of the attacker's name there was a deluge of politically motivated posts with leftists attempting to frame the attacker as a right wing extremist. Conservative pundits immediately launched into framing the attacker as a lefty.
The tweets claiming the attacker was a righty got more retweets than those claiming that he was a leftist.
If we are to hold that social media is the standard of truth, then the attacker must be a conservative because these tweets got the most votes.
Whatever gets the most upvotes must be true!!!
Anyway, what I learned from Twitter is that David DePape had links to conspiracy theories on his facebook page. Reading conspiracy theories proves that DePape is a rightwing extremist.
I mean, Democrats never fall for or promote conspiracy theories.
I did find an article claiming that DePape had a BLM sign and LGBTQ flag at his house. The attacker had a history of participating in radical events.
Reports on DePape used the term "Castro Nudist." Some Conservative pundits took the term to mean the attacker supported the Cuban dictator. I suspect that the term "Castro nudist" refered to either a street in San Francisco or to the Castro Valley outside Oakland which is home to a nudist colony.
Apparently, the attacker had several Russian friends. I suspect that the attack was about the War in Ukraine.
Personally, I don't think the current political affiliations of this attacker mattered a lick.
I suspect that the attacker was radicalized during school and that he spent his life jumping from cause to cause while acting out in an extreme manner. He probably attended numerous protests and eventually he convinced himself that a cause warranted an attack on a public official.
Conclusion
If we want to improve things; we need to unmask the radicalization process that takes place in our nation's schools.
I believe that the best way is to study the history of philosophy and the rise of modern partisan politics.
I love to study the history of ideas. I am particularly fond of the history of mathematics.
I despise politics.
Unfortunately, the problems of the world seem to flow from the political class. The world needs to find an antidote to the poison that flows from the political system.
I believe that the best approach to exposing the destructive nature of modern politics is to point out that left and right came from the same source.
The ideologies called "Conservatism" and "Progressivism" were created by political strategists in Europe to advance the central governments of Europe.
The left/right split creates a system of controlled opposition that allows the political class to divide and conquer the people.
My end goal is to publish a book. The book would be called "The Two Sides of the Coin."
I wrote a rough draft of the work on Proof of Brain last year.
My idea is to write out each chapter on either Blurt or one of the HIVE Tribal sites. I am thinking of using either VYP or PALnet. I will post tweets on Twitter, Parler and TruthSocial.
I am trying to figure how to convey to people on the Left and Right that the problems that we face today come from epistemological structure of the left right split and not from the opposition.
