The prompt for day 17 of #inktober was journal; so I decided to use my dip pen to draw a picture of a person writing about drawing a dip pen with a dip pen in a journal.
Yes, it is extremely unimaginative.
I took a picture of my hand holding the pen as a base for the picture. Yeah, I just drew an outline of my hand in the photo.
I found out that it is extremely difficult to write with a dip pen and hand to switch to a fountain pen to scratch in some text.
My hand is very boring ... but at least I still have all of my fingers.
The AI Image
I've been using InkTober to play a game of man v. machine.
For this game, I try to draw a picture a day on VY Brainium. I then ask Night Cafe to generate an image.
I wanted Night Cafe to produce an image of a hand writing in a journal.
It turns out that AI does a lousy job of drawing hands. AI likes to draw hands that appear out of nowhere.
AI does not understand the concept of a pen. I would draw pens that had nibs on both ends of the pen.
Night Cafe does a great job drawing imaginative pop books.
I happen to live in the mountain west. Many of the pioneers kept detailed journals. So, when I hear about journals, I think of the journals of the early pioneers. So, I asked Night Cafe to draw a popup book that showed pioneers crossing the plains.
