A warm greeting to everyone in the #Music community. I am pleased to share my trumpet interpretation of “Father And Son”, a folk rock song composed by Cat Stevens. The lyrics delve into the complex relationship between fathers and sons, especially at a time of transition when the son seeks to forge his own path. The melody is soft yet lyrical, with a nostalgic and melancholic tone. The rhythm is moderate and steady, with a calm and stable beat. We recently heard it in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and it illustrates the complicated relationship between Peter Quill and his adoptive father, Yondu. The eclectic mix of rock and pop classics from the 60s and 70s included in these films' saga is fascinating. That vintage style in the music causes nostalgia, and longing for things of the past. The song is inspired by the context of the Russian Revolution, where a young man wants to join it, while his father, a conservative farmer, prefers that he stay working on the farm.

I am practicing several jazz pieces and some songs that I will record later. Mondays are always a day to get back into the swing of things after a weekend of inactivity and rest. I don't believe in coincidences, I believe rather in cause and effect, and in the exercise of faith. While I was practicing I came across this song. I was looking for a song with a medium register and that wasn't so demanding, then this miracle happened. I believe that a miracle doesn't have to be something extraordinary. There are simple and small things that we could consider to be within this category. In the immensity of the universe we are a particle, which, seen from the right perspective, is a miracle from God. I hope you enjoy this little miracle and that you have a successful start to the week, especially in the good things.

Father And Son
It's not time to make a change
Just relax, take it easy
You're still young, that's your fault
There's so much you have to know
Find a girl, settle down
If you want you can marry
Look at me
I am old, but I'm happy
I was once like you are now
And I know that it's not easy
To be calm
When you've found something going on
But take your time, think a lot
Why, think of everything you've got
For you will still be here tomorrow
But your dreams may not
How can I try to explain?
When I do, he turns away again
It's always been the same
Same old story
From the moment I could talk
I was ordered to listen
Now there's a way
And I know that I have to go away
I know, I have to go
It's not time to make a change (Away, away, away)
Just sit down, take it slowly
You're still young, that's your fault (I know)
There's so much you have to go through (I have to make this decision)
Find a girl, settle down (Alone)
If you want you can marry
Look at me (No)
I am old, but I'm happy
All the times that I've cried (Stay, stay, stay)
Keeping all the things I knew inside
It's hard
But it's harder to ignore it (Why must you go)
If they were right, I'd agree (And make this decision)
But it's them they know, not me (Alone)
Now there's a way
And I know that I have to go away
I know, I have to go
