Hello everybody! Today we will walk through the streets of Veliky Novgorod and look at what the city looks like in an architectural sense. We chose Ilyin Street at random, as it went straight from the Humpback Bridge somewhere in the distance.
INFORMATION FROM THE NETWORK: Veliky Novgorod has an advantageous geographical location: at the dawn of the formation of the Ancient Russian state, the famous trade route "from the Varangians to the Greeks" passed through Veliky Novgorod and its main waterways (Volkhov and Ilmen), which connected the Baltic Sea coast and Constantinople. Today, the city is located between two Russian capitals: the distance to Moscow is 530 kilometers, to St. Petersburg‑St. Petersburg is 195 kilometers away.
There are few tourists in this direction. All of them remained in the ancient fortress, on pleasure steamers, as well as in parks on the territory adjacent to the Kremlin. But our way lay further, because the Sister promised to show us the ancient monastery.
It turned out to be very quiet on the street, there were almost no cars driving here, colorful daylilies bloomed everywhere, which pleased the eye. Looking at the small two-storey buildings and taking photographs, I involuntarily admired the cleanliness and comfort of the local places.
I don't know about you, but personally I really like places like this. I am not very comfortable living among the noise of the capital cities, I do not tolerate the hustle and bustle on the streets, so I would be happy to put Novgorod on the list of those cities where I would definitely like to live when I retire.
Other alleys and alleys stretch in different directions from Ilyin Street. We did not distract ourselves and explore them, although out of the corner of my eye I noticed that there was about the same cozy and quiet atmosphere as on the street we were walking along.
There are several cafes and shops here, but I didn't notice anyone coming in or out of there. At one point, it even seemed to me that time literally stood still here. And only the cars standing by the sidewalk confirmed that it was the 21st century, not the 15th century.
Tomorrow I plan to show the same monastery courtyard with old buildings that remained in the vicinity of Ilyina Street. There will be a lot of photos and an interesting story. And that's it for today!
Привет всем! Сегодня мы прогуляемся по улицам Великого Новгорода и посмотрим на то, как выглядит город в архитектурном смысле. Улицу Ильина мы выбрали наугад, так как она шла прямо от Горбатого моста куда-то вдаль.
СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: У Великого Новгорода выгодное географическое положение: на заре образования Древнерусского государства через Великий Новгород и его основные водные артерии (Волхов и Ильмень) проходил знаменитый торговый путь «из варяг в греки», который связывал побережье Балтийского моря и Константинополь. Сегодня же город находится между двумя российскими столицами: расстояние до Москвы составляет 530 километров, до Санкт‑Петербурга — 195 километров.
В этой стороне мало туристов. Все они остались в старинной крепости, на прогулочных пароходах, а также в парках на прилегающей к кремлю территории. Но наш путь лежал дальше, потому что Сестра обещала показать нам старинный монастырь.
На улице оказалось очень тихо, здесь почти не ездили машины, повсюду цвёл разноцветный лилейник, который радовал взор. Разглядывая небольшие двухэтажные здания и делая фотоснимки, я невольно залюбовался чистотой и уютом здешних мест.
Не знаю, как вы, а лично я очень люблю подобные места. Мне не очень комфортно жить среди шума столичных городов, я не терплю суеты и толкотни на улицах, поэтому Новгород я бы с радостью записал в список тех городов, где я бы точно хотел жить, когда выйду пенсию.
От улицы Ильина тянутся в разные стороны другие аллеи и переулки. Мы не стали отвлекаться и исследовать их, хотя краем глаза я заметил, что там примерно такая же уютная и тихая атмосфера, как и на той улице, по которой мы шли.
Здесь есть несколько кафе и магазинов, но я не заметил, чтобы кто-то входил или выходил оттуда. В какой-то момент мне даже показалось, что время буквально замерло здесь. И только стоявшие у тротуара автомобили подтверждали, что сейчас 21-й, а не 15 век.
Завтра я планирую показать тот самый монастырский двор со старыми постройками, который остался в окрестностях улицы Ильина. Будет много фотоснимков и интересный рассказ. А на сегодня у меня всё!
