As part of a Games-day reveal a new unit has been showcasted for the Adeptus Mechanicus.
So... I am not going to lie, this model is relatively dorky. On the other end, this also has, in of itself, been on purpose.
Never content with waging war in a regular way and with regular bodies. The Mechanus are super keen on creating soldiers that are meant for a specific battlefield role.
So the Syndonian Skatros has these massive stilt legs. The whole internet is full of memes about it!
I will tell you what is NOT a laughing manner, its weapons!
There are two variations, one that is anti-infantry and one that is anti-vehicle/monster.
This is but a Single shot but it hits on a 3+, which becomes a 2+ when standing still. Precision means you can pick a target from within a throng.
Infantry get Wounded plus a critical is scored on a 3+, regardless of the target's toughness.
AP -2 witll take most characters down to their Invul save and then a solid 3 Damage.
This will do well to remove certain characters or to weaken them ahead of a fight.
Meanwhile there is another gun:
The same basics apply. Same range, still one attack. 3+ to hit while moving or a 2+ while standing still.
Then it has an anti-monster and anti-vehilce rule on thit where on a 4+ it gets a critical hit in. However, without some other rule to give them Devastating Wounds this gun is a bit underwhelming.
The Strength of the gun matters not as it always wounds on 4+ and the other gun is the better option to use against infantry.
It has the same AP but then, for some STRANGE reason, this gun has a variable Damage amount. A D3 means that sometimes it will deal one damage and other times three. This is terrible.
Besides that, I know that these battle nerds have far better ani-tank/monster options in their collection.
Well... this is my quick little review on what we know about this new unit.
Thank you for reading!
Cheers!
