The Children of Gaza Needs Help

in #hive-1679224 months ago

The Israel-Palestine specifically in Gaza continue to be one of the biggest humanitarian crisis in World history. A humanitarian crisis is a generalized emergency situation that affects an entire community or a group of people in a region, which involves high levels of mortality and death. As we all know, an armed conflict between Israel and Hamas-led Palestinian militant groups has been taking place chiefly in the Gaza Strip since 7 October 2023 and it is still on going up until this days. Israeli forces have repeatedly and continued to launch new offensives to combat Hamas fighters they say have been regrouping in parts of Gaza that the military has previously invaded.

The sad reality is that more than 33,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been brutally killed in air and artillery strikes carried out by the Israeli military in response, Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry says. The most affected one are the children of Gaza who are innocent.

The Vulnerable Children
The United Nation has dubbed Gaza ‘a graveyard’ for children as more than 8,000 children killed and thousands displaced by Israeli war. Could you imagine that? That is so disheartening to learn. These people does not killing even the innocent one as according to statistic a child was being killed every 10 minutes, that is definitely brutal. The UN has called the besieged Palestinian enclave “a graveyard” for children due to the high casualty figures of death. That is sickening to our stomach. These are innocent children.

The mental and psychological aspect are the worst thing about this. Those children who survived and all of Gaza's children have been exposed to the traumatic experiences of war, the consequences of which will last a lifetime. War is regrettably nothing new in today’s reality and the consequences it brought will be forever to remember. Things that most people should realized.

First, they are supposed to be enjoying their childhood as they depend on the care, love, empathy, and attention of adults who cherish them. Their attachments are frequently disrupted in times of war which is a sad truth as most of their parents are killed which led to their vulnerability and extreme preoccupation of parents in protecting and finding subsistence for the family, and emotional unavailability of depressed or distracted parents.

These children suffered a lot of traumatic experiences and the impact in childhood or every child may adversely affect the life trajectory of children far more than adults. Let us consider children who lose the opportunity for education and their family during war, and children who are forced to move into refugee camp without anything or love-ones. Its hard to imagine that at a young age they lose the opportunity of schooling and of a social life.

These children usually ends up as a refugee or in a refugee camp. They are especially vulnerable to physical abuse, exploitation and trafficking during emergencies and armed conflicts. And as violence against children increases, perpetrators are rarely held accountable for the killing, maiming, sexual violence, abductions and armed recruitment of children, or for attacks on schools and hospitals which is clearly alarming.

The stories we hear about these children who have been caught up in the violence and who have had family members killed bring heartache and sadness. The reality is that even when the war finally ends, it is unclear how many children and young people who experienced this terrible thing will be able to access stable education, healthcare, nutrition and other necessities, yet alone to have opportunities to play, relax and just 'be children' and to live a normal life.

Let our Voice be Heard

We need to be more vocal and proactive to help these vulnerable children. The long-term impacts of an entire generation suffering from extreme trauma and poor mental health can also not be understated and ignored. The most important thing is providing emergency relief to these children impacted by war, including medical care, safe water and sanitation, hygiene kits and more could change everything.

Awareness to the social issue and reality is crucial way to adapt a solution. That's why i am posting here in Inleo as this platform will be great outlet and voice for the marginalized and underrepresented sector of the community. Caring for and working to reunite children who have been separated from their families is the number one priority. Let us help them anyways we can. It might a a donation or even a simple prayer.

Peace is one of those terms that’s frequently used, but elusive to define, right? Peace, security, and future well-being are the basic needs that people desperately want and seek in the midst of violent, conflict and war. However, building back trust, livelihoods, institutions and relationships is a complex and long-term endeavor, full of steps forward and back that needs to be done.

We are still hoping that all of this chaos, violence and war will end one day. Where a society focuses on peace and on the positive aspects that creates societies that flourish, contributing to the economic political and social well-being as well as the peacefulness of our societies over the long-term.
