I am a weekend warrior as it is but #WeekendExperiences (founded by @galenkp,) #SublimeSunday (inspired by @c0ff33a) and #BeautifulSunday (initiated by @ace108) make it even better when you are a #hive blockchain citizen.
This weekend, I am backing in the outdoors on a beautiful mid-summer weekend!
Last Edition
I hit the big city for a ball game! Something special about a pro sports game like the Jays that makes the $18 beers worth it.
This weekend, it is sunny and 25 Celsius all weekend so I am trying to see if I can stay outside all as much as possible. On a weekend that is blissfully unscheduled, an easy way to do that is a couple visits to the dog park. Nicely overgrown and a wonderland for my little buddy.
He is fast but I managed to snag a good action shot of him in full flight. Looks pretty happy eh?
Another Park
I made my way to a less dogful park where picnickers and families like to visit in the middle of town. The perfect day for some weekend frolicking for people of all ages.
The real reason for visiting this day might make you laugh. I am working on the Winterfest committee now because clearly I don't have enough to do already. Helping good people organize community fun is worth my time and I owe my legions of fans more winter adventure anyhow.
Guess which one I am in this picture. I wish I was the one with the hat. I am the asshole in the swan costume! Greeting a tour of garden enthusiasts and promoting the mid winter festival for a bit pf publicity and fun. MAN that suit was hot!
The Weekend Sky
It was supposed to be sunny and 25 all weekend but there were definitely moments of concern for outdoor event planners. All week there have been clear and hot days hammered by a random thundershower. Mercifully it held off this weekend despite some dark grey.
Other times, a look skyward just makes you pause and capture a shot to share with another strange blockchain citizen somewhere in the world. This might be a good background for a #thoughtfuldailypost title shot.
The rain usually blows in from the west where Lake Huron is. One of the nicest things about living in a small town is how big the skies are.
Garden Time
It wouldn't be a weekend worth mentioning without a bunch of time spent in the garden. It has been an eventful couple weeks of summer with things growing tall and the newest of the blooms popping up in the garden.
Besides the influx of midsummer perennials and a whole load of newly planted annuals, it was pruning time in the tomato jungle. Dozens of assorted tomatoes on vines is one of the stories you can check out on the #gardenhive post I have in the chamber perhaps for tomorrow.
Outdoor music
Another treat this weekend was a restaurant patio concert by a band I have not seen in years. The local Thundering Velvet Band spent covid writing songs and enjoying the downtime. Now, they are mastering an album of songs they plan to release on vinyl and getting back to playing live. There is so much music awakening in this town and the scene is just starting to kick into another gear. There is plenty of great music on tap for the rest of the summer and into the fall so stay tuned to attend some of the events with me.
Beer
It has been some tough sledding for some #beer bloggers in these parts because a liquor store strike has closed stores a couple weeks. I rolled right through it as a professional #beerologist with a little keg beer we have brewed and a couple pints on the town. You can check that tale out here and celebrate their reopening with me with this sweet weekend pint.
The sun has set on another weekend adventure capped off by a sublime Sunday. Summer sure is special in a country that hoas more winter than many others. We are not even half way into it!
Thank you for tuning in this week and be sure to buckle up because I have some catching up to do with more adventures for you.
